Tracey Jean is a mixed-media, plaster and clay artist residing on Point Peninsula, Three Mile Bay, New York

Growing up, her time was split with the seasons between the rocky shores of Lake Ontario and the tall trees of the Blue Mountains of Pennsylvania, cultivating an extensive love and respect for the natural world. She started creating at a very early age, and sold her work at a local flea market to pay her first year of university, where she studied environmental science and art history. The years that followed allowed her to study fine art, mosaics, encaustics, sculpting and doll making, but always keeping her art as a side line while she raised a family and spent 20 years in the legal profession. However, as we all learn, passions will not be ignored and, ultimately, the north country became her permanent home.

She has been included in multi-state gallery exhibits, tours and shows including having multiple pieces on permanent collection with the Art House Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. She has been published in several national and international publications, including the Canvas Project V2. Encyclopedia, Altered Bits Curated Mixed Media Collection “Notorious” and several editions of Stampington & Company, Art Dolls Quarterly. Both her mixed media work and pure sculpt creations are collected nationally and internationally and can be found in galleries and gallerias along the east coast.
Tracey Jean also spends a great deal of time teaching, holding monthly art classes for children and adults at the Lyme Free Library in Chaumont and the Thousand Island Art Center in Clayton, through out the year. She believes that teaching young people is part of the circle of creating.

When she is not in her studio, tracey jean is an avid bird caretaker and environmentalist; she loves tending to the farm and you will often find her up to her elbows in garden dirt, knees in the lake scavaging the shore lines for mixed media goodies or head in the clouds dreaming of small creatures and a world of paint.
