Announcement   Check out my shop ArtisticInput for my older, less expensive pieces. I will be listing all my older work there, and taking any older work from here to put on that site at lower prices. I'll be keeping my more recent work here at Art To Hold.

Here you'll find unique pieces that are visually and tactically distinct. Small works of art that will enhance your life in ways that a purely visual display object cannot. No two pieces I make are the same, each is made as a totally different thing, which means that when you choose the piece that is right for you, it becomes yours and yours alone. There is not another like it, nor will there be. I have worked over a long career in art with stained glass, fused glass, blown glass, painting, and pottery, and love what I do. I have a number of photos on pinterest.com/watsonstudio that you might find interesting., Please feel free to contact me here, with an Etsy convo, with anything that is on your mind or any questions you might have. I will respond to all as quickly as possible.

The reason for the name "Art to Hold" is somewhat self explanatory, pieces of art not only to be viewed but to hold and feel and to use, not just to stand back and look at. It seems to me that, more and more, art is larger and larger, and meant for museum display only. It loses it's human scale and appeal. Etsy has attracted me and my work because it is a refreshing change, art by individual artists on a human scale, offered to people who are looking for art for themselves outside the museum experience. My art and the art that I wish to make has always been on a human scale, meant for us and the homes we live in. I also very much like the direct artist/collector contact, where direct communication can easily and quickly take place, and the buyer can have any questions or concerns, or information sought, answered quickly and at any time by the artist, the person who has made the piece being asked about. So, here I am, offering what I make, and available for any questions you may have. Please never hesitate to contact me (George) with any questions. (I am easily reached by the Etsy "contact seller" or "send convo" system, or at glassartist70 [!at] hotmail.com).

Also I like to mention that, as many on Etsy are, I am an artist who makes what I offer. I work alone, and the pieces are made by me alone, not made, not even partially made, by others. And it is me who stands behind everything I make, and who you will speak with whenever contact is made. I guarantee your complete and utter happiness with what you purchase, and will very quickly refund your money if you wish to return an item for any reason at all. Like most small businesses or individual artists, as opposed to larger businesses, you will never, ever, have to talk with someone else in an effort to try and reach me.

Welcome! I hope you will find something that interests you among my offerings. I have been a full time artist for over 35 years, working mostly in glass and clay. The pieces I will be selling here will be a mixture of new work and older work. In the listings, I will always mention if a piece is an earlier work. Older work will almost always have lower pricing than new work. I will be offering mostly pottery, Japanese style teabowls, teacups, and sake cups, as well as winecups and a few vases and other assorted pieces. I will also have a few glass pieces offered occasionally. Everything that I offer, I have designed and made. I have a one person studio, and do not have assistants or employees, or anyone else making any of the work or any portions of the work. Everything I offer is strickly one of a kind, and I produce only what one person can produce (a comparitively small amount of work). Perhaps there will be something you'll like.

Payment
I accept payment by paypal, check, or money order. Payment by paypal is the quickest, but whatever method you prefer is fine. Shipping is also quickest when using paypal, as I ship within 24 hours of confirmed payment. Checks and Money Orders are welcome, but if paying by check or money order, keep in mind it takes up to a few days to reach me, and a personal check must clear before item is shipped (3-4 days after receipt of check). So please be patient if paying by check. I will email when check is received, and email again when item is being shipped. If payment is by paypal, I will confirm payment and shipment in one email.
Please pay within 3 days of purchase, or notify me if there is a reason payment is not being sent within 3 days. If you wish to purchase an item, but delay payment for some reason, such as later arrival of paycheck, etc., please email me about it. If paying by check or money order, please notify me by email when payment has been sent so I can know to expect it (email through etsy listing or at glassartist70 [!at] yahoo.com). If you need to cancel a purchase for any reason, please let me know, it will not be a problem. Sales Tax is charged in Massachusetts to Massachusetts buyers. Please do not send cash through the mail.
Shipping
I ship by USPS priority mail because I have had excellent results using it. It is very safe, and very fast, with items arriving anywhere in the country in 2-3 days from the day shipped. It is also the most reasonable in cost. I also use USPS (international priority mail) for international shipping, again, because cost is most reasonable and shipping time is very fast. International buys please email for shipping charges (email through the etsy listing or at glassartist70 [!at] yahoo.com), shipping costs shown are for domestic buyers only. International buyers are responsible for any customs fees or other charges imposed by their country on pickup. I charge only the actual shipping cost. If the shipping charge you pay is over the actual cost (determined when the item is packed for shippment)I will immediately issue a refund. If paid by paypal, the refund will be returned through paypal, if other method of payment is used, I will include a refund check in with the package being sent.
Refunds and Exchanges
If for any reason you wish to return an item purchased from me, please notify me within a week of receiving the item. Any item purchased from me can be returned for a full refund if I am notified by email (through the etsy listing or at glassartist70 [!at] yahoo.com) (within a week of receipt of item)of your intent to do so. The full purchase price will be refunded (including the shipping that was paid), the buyer is responsible for return shipping charges, and the item must be insured on return shipment.
Additional policies and FAQs
All of my items are handmade by me, and only me. I photograph my work to capture details, accurate color, full views of all angles, and I describe all pieces accurately. If you have any questions about a piece, please feel free to email me through the etsy listing, or at glassartist70 [!at] yahoo.com . I feel that items I list are shown and described to give the most accurate appraisal possible, but also understand that viewing online is not the same as handling and examining a piece. I want you to be happy with anything you buy from me. If there is any reason at all that you are not completely happy with your purchase, please email me within a week that you would like to return the item, and I will be happy to accept the return. A full refund will be given on the returned item (exept return shipping charges, be sure to insure the item when shipping back to protect against any shipping damage). I have been making work as an artist for well over 35 years now, and take great pride in my work.

This is a non-smoking home and studio, and I never add any scents to anything I ship (or anything, period).
