Timeless Treasures for Heart and Home

Growing up, I always loved working with my hands and learning new skills . . . quilting, crochet, canning, and embroidery to name a few! I can remember when I was just a little girl, my Mom began to teach me the very first handcrafts that I ever learned - cross-stitch and sewing - which helped to lay a foundation for many future skills.

My first sewing project was a pillow made with various fabric scraps and sewn by hand (and long stitches! :) I used fiberfill to stuff the pillow, and on the bag, there was a pattern for a doll. I can remember looking and looking at that pattern and wanting so much to someday make one!

Eventually after years of sewing and developing an online clothing business sewing clothing for women and girls, that childhood dream of sewing dolls was finally realized and the Annie and Betsy dolls were lovingly designed! As the faces are hand-embroidered and the clothing fabrics personally selected, each doll has its own unique personality. No two are alike!

While the skill of sewing was developing, so was cross-stitching. It was one of my favorite handworks to do! I have since had the great pleasure of teaching many young girls this enjoyable skill as well, and I loved seeing their delight as they created their first beautiful work of art. Seeing their joy and excitement filled me with the desire to be able to help other girls experience the same. Hence, the line of cross-stitch kits and patterns offered here!

I am excited to share some of the items created here on our little farm in the Midwest, and I hope that perhaps you might find a treasure that you may be looking for . . . each item is made with loving care and with the hope that it will be able to be enjoyed and used for many years to come!

. . . to As Lilies Country Store! Where my original and timeless old fashioned cloth dolls and teddy bears are offered. Each doll and bear is made by me with loving care, and is original in its design. The faces of the dolls are hand-embroidered thus creating a unique and original look to each doll, the bodies are carefully constructed for durability, and the clothing fabrics are chosen for their old-fashioned charm and to coordinate together. The bears are constructed of soft corduroy and have adorable faces with their button eyes and little corduroy noses.

These dolls and bears are available ready-made in our shop and are simply waiting to be packaged up and sent on their way to be loved and enjoyed for years to come. Or, if you would like a custom order, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to work with you!

In addition to the children’s toys, I also offer clothespin bags that are a design that I made to suit my family's needs. We liked it so well, I began offering them here, too!

A recent addition to my shop is cross-stitch kits and patterns! Ever since learning how to cross-stitch as a young girl, this has been craft that I have loved to do. I also have had the opportunity to teach many young girls how to cross-stitch and from these experiences, developed my cross-stitch kits and instruction booklets. It makes me so happy to think that through these kits, other girls and women can learn this beautiful and timeless craft and enjoy creating beautiful works of art!

Additional policies and FAQs
FAQ for the dolls . . .

Q: Can I choose which color of hair and fabrics that my doll has?

A: Yes! You are welcome to choose either brown, yellow, or black yarn for hair and choose which color scheme of fabrics you would like for the clothing (i.e. yellow floral dress with white pinafore; green polka dot dress with pink pinafore; etc.)

A: What about eye color? Can I choose that, too?

Q: We do offer three different types of eye color: dark blue, dark brown, and black. So you are welcome to choose from one of these three.

Q: Can I purchase my own fabrics, yarn and trims and send them to you and have you make a doll or bear from them?

A: Again, yes! I am happy to make custom dolls and bears from the materials that you provide. Please simply let me know which item you would like to have made and then I can let you know what materials/yardages will be needed.
