Asakomini's Shop Announcement

I make miniature food. I make miniature with my passion.
When I was a little girl in Japan, my mother read me a story of a magical chest of drawers. When the drawers were opened, each revealed a beautiful scene.

The top drawer was filled with the images of spring--rice fields, green meadows; cherry trees in blossom; buds about to open.

The second drawer revealed sunlight, flowers, and butterflies--all the warm sights of summer.

In the third drawer were the visions of autumn--gold and red leaves, chrysanthemums, and birds flying toward the south.

And the fourth drawer opened to a picture of bare trees, evergreens, and fallen snow--winter in Japan.

I was so impressed by this story and the pictures in my mind that I wanted to recreate them through miniatures--scenes just small enough to fit into a drawer.

Now, I make miniatures of foods--Japanese sushi, fancy pastry, and fruits--as well as miniature ceramics and miniature reproductions of Japanese scenes--sushi shops, mochi shops, yakitori shops. Some of my miniatures can be seen at the Angels Attic Museum in Santa Monica.
