About

The skies made tangible

The constellations of night sky have, by turn, brought me comfort and inspiration. Their familiar pattern takes me back to summers spent working at planetariums and observatories while I was studying to be an astrophysicist. And even after decades of gazing at the night sky, Venus in the evening twilight still takes my breath away.

Today, I’m an ex-astrophysicist. I spend my days creating data visualizations and infographics for science magazines. Creating accurate and beautiful illustrations—built on data—brings me joy.

With Asterism Labs, I evoke the wonder and beauty of the night sky, and recreate it in honor of life’s most memorable occasions. It’s ephemera that endures.

My bread-and-butter are weddings and babies, but I’m open to just about anything—send me a note; I’d love to work something out!

I’m a Ph.D. ex-astrophysicist who creates data visualizations for science magazines. I love that the night sky is ever changing, and yet a constant comfort—look up from a new place on a dark night, and familiar constellations smile down.

Production partners

  • Alpha Graphics

    Baltimore, MD

Each piece is brought to paper by a professional independently owned print shop here in Baltimore. They use high-resolution printers and acid-free heavyweight paper to create art that lasts. And they should know—they've been in business 40 years.

  • Framebridge

    Lanham, MD

Any framing is done by the Framebridge shop just outside D.C. They do a fantastic yet affordable job of showing off the fabulous work of my print shop (and me).
