Announcement   Welcome to my Etsy shop!
Happy New Year to all of you!
I wanted to let you guys know that besides making wearable glass art I also do a lot of teaching across the world, if you are interested in following one of my workshops let me know and I can send you some info.

A bead is not just a bead, The bead is a canvas for my expression, I see each one as a piece of wearable art, much thought, time, experience and love goes into making my beads. I mostly love to make focal beads, they need not much more to dress them up, as each one makes a strong statement and are fabulous when hung on a beautiful silver necklace.

About my hollow beads.... Each bead is blown off mandrel on a blow pipe, each pattern , color and detail you see is layered onto the base bead. It is quite a challenge to blow glass with different colors and designs as each of these expand and contract at different rates, even though the COE is all 104 each colour has has a different viscosity
(resistance of flow) This is what in part makes these beads special and unique.
Much time is spent on preparing elements for the the design of the bead, and once annealed and cooled ( which takes a day ) the beads are cold worked , which means grinding, etching or sandblasting is done to them. I hope that this will help in the understanding of the value of the beads, they are one of a kind handmade ART beads, something which in itself is becoming more rare as mass production is rampant!

I also want to thank all of you who leave me such wonderful feedback on my beads, it makes me really happy to know that you are happy with your purchase!

Of course quality is my priority, both in the bead and the service to you. I want you to know all the beads are all annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for durability. The holes are properly cleaned, and each bead is checked.
Please do allow for slight variations of brightness or color as each screen might portray them differently. The beads are mostly photographed in a light box for optimum quality.
I am a self representing artist (SRA 86)

Your feedback is much appreciated!

NB!
I have two shipping options:
1 with regular airmail with tracking...undefined time of delivery
2 with Aramex epress mail 2-5 working days!
I have sponsored the Aramex fee!

Please read through the shop policies before committing to a purchase!

Shop policies

My philosophy is that I would like my beads to bring some joy in your life, and therefore I would like you to read through the policies I have put in place to avoid unpleasant situations.
All the beads are handmade, check the photos carefully and allow for the fact that the photos are enlarged and that some screens will alter the color representation, I don't hide imperfections in the beads, so please make sure you like what you see to avoid disappointment!

Shipping
All parcels are shipped in a black gift box, bubblewrap envelope, either wrapped in lots of bubble wrap and finished off with tissue paper.

It has come to my attention that shipping throughout the world via regular airmail is taking much longer, on average at least 4-6 weeks and even longer sadly. Parcels leaving the senders country do not get tracked in the destination country unless you take the tracking number to your postal service and ask them to track it.
Unfortunately these things are outside of my control so please be patient as the parcels do arrive.
I have added an expedited option, yes it costs more, but you should receive your parcel within a 2-5 work days unless it hangs in customs. The cost below 500g is $28 but I will sponsor $10 and have made the cost $18 for you.
For original works with a higher value it is wise to use this option, it is definitely a safer method and fully trackable. on check out you will be given the two shipping options.

Thank you !
Additional policies and FAQs
With all said and done PLEASE avoid unnessary returns by rather asking me any questions before you make a purchase or by making an over hasty decision. If you have chosen to buy a bead or reserve a bead, please take the responsibility to pay me timeously.
Enjoy your purchases,
Astrid Riedel.
