About

A sneak peek behind the scenes of Attic Antics...

When I first launched Attic Antics in 2009, I was creating assemblage art using vintage findings and ephemera. But the pace of my graphic design business (www.defteling.com) had me spending all my time in my office and none in my art studio. So I decided to start listing some of my stash right here on Etsy – figured it was time for someone else to enjoy my treasures.

Now what started as a destashing project has turned into an actual business buying and selling antiques and vintage finds – and I couldn't be happier! I buy remotely from trusted vendors in northern Europe and I also scour local flea markets and estate sales while saving up for my next buying trip to Europe (I try to go once a year).

I actually grew up in Europe (the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, to be exact) so it's actually a bit like going home with me happily gobbling up childhood foods such as saucijzebroodjes (sausage rolls), poffertjes (tiny pancakes) and drop (licorice).

I have some favorite markets I try to hit every time I visit and I try to establish new vendor contacts while I'm there, too. My dream would be to fill a container and have it shipped over but until then, I make do by stuffing suitcases and hand luggage with all my treasures and have vendors mail me boxes the rest of the year.

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm always adding new items that I've brought back from recent travels to the Netherlands, Belgium and France or that I've hunted for locally. So make sure to visit often or follow me on Facebook or Instagram to be the first to see popular new product listings!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
I accept credit card payments via Etsy's Direct Checkout system as well as PayPal. If you have any questions on how to proceed through either checkout process, feel free to convo me and I'll try to help.
Shipping
Unless otherwise noted, I typically use the United States Postal Service First Class mail delivery or FedEx Home Delivery for heavier items. This can take anywhere from a day or two on the West Coast to a week or longer to the East Coast or rural areas. If you require expedited shipping, just let me know and I'll send you a PayPal invoice to pay for the difference.

I strive to ship out the same or next day but if you order on a weekend or I'm out of town on business, it may take up to 72 hours before I can ship out your package.

I mark your order shipped the day it gets processed and include the tracking number so you can keep an eye on your package as it makes its way to you.

For international orders, please be aware that most countries will have customs duties or import taxes that are your responsibility to pay. I mark packages as merchandise with the paid price of the item as the value of the item, which is then used by your country's customs office to determine your duties/taxes.
Refunds and Exchanges
Because all these items are vintage, they are usually not in pristine condition. If you have any concerns about color, size, material or anything else, please contact me before you complete your purchase.

I want you to be thrilled with your purchase! If your purchase arrives damaged (other than standard wear and tear due to the age of the item and as shown in the photos on the listing), please contact me right away and we'll figure out next steps (I'll likely ask you to send me photos of the damaged packaging and goods and/or return the items before I can issue a refund).
