Diving into Antiques and Vintage

When younger, I wondered why people would get so excited over antiques and other "old stuff." I just didn't get it...I wanted new, pristine items!

Have you ever done a complete flip in your life? Well, I did! Several years ago, after my two sons had started out on their own, I began collecting old rhinestone brooches. I was still working and now had a little extra cash to splurge on those beauties from the past.

Well, soon enough, I had a drawer full, which, it turned out, I seldom even looked at (the thrill was the hunt), so I decided to pare down my collection a bit. I signed up for my first flea market to sell a few pieces of my jewelry, and my nosedive in to vintage began. I began reading and learning all I could about vintage jewelry, pottery, depression glass, kitchen and more. I bought the books, research the net, and asked questions. I couldn't get enough and gobbled down all the information I could find on vintage and antique collectibles (wouldn't my school teachers be proud of me now?!).

Times change and I am now retired and so pleased that I picked up this little hobby because it now provides me the means to supplement my retirement a bit. I am thankful for old things!!

I accept both PayPal and Etsy's payment through credit cards. Also accept Etsy gift cards.

Please note that I do not normally include an invoice with a purchase. If you need me to, be sure to ask when you make your purchase and I'll be happy to include one. Most buyers have indicated they just throw them away.
Shipping
Please make sure your address is a confirmed address prior to placing an order. Zip codes need the additional 4 digits added in and write out North, South, Street, Place, etc.

SHIPPING for USA: Packages are mailed through the United States Postal Service, generally using first class mail (3-5 day delivery) for items ups to 15 ounces in weight and priority mail (2-3 day delivery) for heavier items.

COMBINED SHIPPING: I do offer combined shipping.

PACKAGED WITH CARE: I've done online selling for over 16 years and have a lot of experience in proper packing, so be assured I take care that your item is carefully shipped. Fragile items are bubble wrapped and padded well. Should there be a problem when my package arrives, however, don't hesitate to contact me...as soon as possible please. Items shipped priority mail always have insurance included, so be sure to keep original packaging, etc., so we can make a claim if necessary.

DAMAGED IN SHIPPING: Please be sure to notify me within 24 hours if you receive a damaged item, so if it has been insured, I can file the claim with the post office. Be sure to keep the original packaging and item and take photos to show them proof of damage.

PROMPT SHIPPING: Items are generally shipped within one working day of purchase and payment. Most of my buyers in USA are pleasantly surprised at how quickly they receive their items.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS WELCOME: I do ship internationally. However, please note that any import duties, taxes, and charges by your country are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. Any duties or fees your country requires on incoming packages is your responsibility to pay, so please be aware if it is applicable to you. Don't hesitate to contact me for a shipping quote if there is something you are interested in.
Refunds and Exchanges
FULL REFUND: If I made an error in listing the item or did not adequately describe the condition, etc., I will pay full refund, including shipping. Item MUST be returned within 10 days of purchase date.

NO REFUND: I DO NOT make refunds on "change of mind" purchases, so please make SURE you want what you are purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

What shipping services do you use?

I ship only through USPS.

Items under 1 pound are generally sent first class mail with a 3-5 day delivery time and anything over 1 pound is sent priority mail which has a 2-3 day delivery time.

Standard/parcel post shipping costs nearly as much as the priority service and has a much longer delivery time. You have to ask me if you want this service.

How quickly will you ship out my order?

Your order is generally shipped on the next business day after you purchase it. I always try to ship promptly.

Do you smoke or have pets?

I live in a smoke-free home, but do have cats, so if you suffer from allergies, you may want to make note of this. However, my items are clean and kept away from the cats, but I don't know if just being in a home with cats will affect allergies or not.

What is "vintage condition"?

Most items in my shop are vintage, if not antique, and range from 20 to 100 years old.

As these items have been previously used in someone's life, you can expect some level of wear such as minor surface scratches, light tarnish, or minor finish loss.

Any damage or concerns beyond normal wear, I will make note of in my descriptions. Questions are happily answered if you have a specific concern.

Do you sell and ship internationally?

I am happy to ship internationally if you will contact me about the item you are interested in.

What if my item arrives damaged or my package gets lost in the mail?

If your item was damaged during shipping, please contact me as soon as possible.

On insured packages, I will need you to send me photos of the damage to box and the broken item. I'll be happy to file the insurance claim with USPS and will refund your money once claim is approved.

If your package does not show as being delivered after 20 days of shipping date, contact me and I will file a lost package claim with the insurance carrier. Refunds are processed once the insurance claim has completed.

Shipping insurers will not cover packages that go missing or are stolen after USPS shows a completed delivery to your address. Make sure your packages are left in a safe place. Check with neighbors and post office if a package goes missing.

What about returns?

All sales are considered final unless the item is not as I've described.

As a buyer, please make sure you understand the condition of the item and that you truly want what you are ordering. I am always happy to answer questions. Know what you are buying.
