The Attic Studio

The Attic Studio is a small art studio in the upper story of a ramshackle old farm house. Packed from floor to ceiling with a wide variety of art supplies (many of which I've gleaned from the woods, fields, and streams of rural West Virginia), The Attic Studio overlooks a beautiful landscape that inspires me in the creation of any number of fanciful and arts and crafts.

In addition, I love rummaging through thrift stores, so you'll also spy an array of my fun & fantastic finds in my shop.

    I am a 42 year old native of West Virginia, USA. I work in a variety of media, watercolor being a particular favorite. Though my art is bizarre and fantastical, it is heavily inspired by the lovely natural surroundings of my rural home.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Returns and exchange details
I do not refund custom 'made to order' or personalized items. While I'm reluctant to accept returns on other items, please reach out to me via 'convo' (Etsy messages) if you wish to arrange a return.

For returns, contact me within 7 days of receiving your order. The item must be returned in its original condition within 14 days (if not returned in original condition, buyer is responsible for any loss in value). Buyer is responsible for return shipping, which must include package tracking. Please save and re-use the original packaging for ease of shipment. When the item is received and inspected, the original item price will be refunded.

Please keep tabs on your tracking number and send me a message if anything goes amiss -- has your item been lost, delayed, or damaged in the mail? Let me know so I can help....and remember, items shipped via Priority Mail automatically receive shipping insurance.

Please use whichever method is most convenient for you. Once the payment clears (which is typically immediate), your item will ship within 1 to 3 business days.
If payment does not clear within 7 to 14 business days (depending on payment platform), the transaction will be cancelled & fully refunded to the customer.
SHIPPING COSTS: Shipping costs are based on the item's size & weight (including packaging), shipping method, and the buyer's location. Shipping upgrades are available for an added cost. Currently, purchases totaling over $35 ship for free!

PACKAGE TRACKING: All items are shipped with package tracking -- even small 'paper' items like cards & bookmarks -- every item comes with proof of shipment and delivery.

MEDIA MAIL: Books are shipped via Media Mail, which is typically a bit slower than First Class or Priority. These items are eligible for shipping upgrades at the buyer's request (and at the buyer's expense).

TIMING: If you need an item by a certain date, please contact me before making your purchase to discuss shipping options -- while I can NEVER guarantee that a shipment will arrive by a specific day, I'm happy to work with you to find the fastest shipping method.

PACKAGING: I recycle and re-use packing materials whenever possible. This sometimes includes the use of food boxes as packaging -- if you have any serious allergies please let me know so I don't inadvertently use an inappropriate box to package your item. I also work in a 'pet-friendly' space, which may be an issue for customers who are allergic.
Additional policies and FAQs
OUT IN THE BOONIES: I live in a rural area. There is no cell phone service here (!) and the landline phone, internet, and even the mail may be interrupted a few times a year by adverse weather conditions -- potentially causing brief delays in shipment.
Whenever possible, I notify my current customers of these outages, and I always strive to send replies and ship items as speedily as possible. Thank you for your patience & understanding when I'm unable to do so immediately. :)

Q: How big is it?
A: Sizes of items are included in item descriptions, titles, and photos whenever possible. I realize these details may be difficult to access on certain devices, so if you can't view that information, send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Q: Can you make me a personalized item?
A: At the moment I only take commissions for customized Breyer models (Traditional size) on a limited basis. Thanks for understanding!

Q: Will you give this item to me for free / will you give me a discount?
A: My prices are firm. I occasionally have sales or offer coupon codes. The best place to learn about such sales is in my shop announcement or on my Facebook page: AtticStudioWV.

Q: You say you work in a 'pet-friendly' space, what does that mean?
A: I have 3 cats and 2 dogs who sometimes hang out in my studio (so my items may not be suitable for those with severe allergies). I also have a flock of chickens...but they don't have access to the inside of my house! ;)

Q: Why don't you ship to my country?
A: For a variety of reasons, I no longer ship internationally. Perhaps you could use a forwarding service to purchase from my shop.
