More than 35 years in the jewelry business!

Established in 1983 as a watch and jewelry repair shop called The Repair Palace in Saugus, MA, Atwood Jewelers was the creation of Robert Atwood. A Waltham School of watching making graduate, he was also a retired Sears employee with more than 25 years experience as a watchmaker and then jewelry manager/buyer for sears over that time period.

In 1993 Atwood opened a second Repair Palace as a licensed business within Sears at The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH, where it thrived for over 25 years. During that time, the store evolved from one that mainly offered jewelry, watch and clock repair, to one that also carried a huge selection of estate and contemporary jewelry and watches. The company also began buying gold, silver, and platinum over-the-counter at very competitive prices.

1998 saw the opening of a third store, a kiosk at the Mall at Whitney Field in Leominster, MA, which has been run by Atwood's daughter Joanne for the past 15 years. It too offers a diverse selection of jewelry as well as watch and jewelry repair.

Because of the closing of Sears in Salem, NH, in December of 2018, The Repair Palace had to relocate to its current location at 240 N. Broadway in Salem and decided to change the name to Atwood Jewelers since The Repair Palace name no longer accurately reflected what the store was all about. It had evolved and now carried hundreds of pieces for sale, many being one-of-a-kind, as well as maintaining a very strong repair business.
