How it all started
I'm the mom of some very unique boys and most of my work is inspired by their moods, interests, and inner wild. I have formal training in Photoshop and Illustrator, as Covid hit, this mom needed an outlet for those rainy days when the Garden was inaccessible. I notoriously hate all my artwork, so I had a stockpile of images I wasn't doing anything with. With a little push to actually do something with my graphics, I started making some tee shirts. I printed off about 30 different graphics in various shirt colors. I boxed them up and drove to a family gathering to ask everyone's opinion. The shirts were much better received than what I anticipated. My family is not one to withhold criticism. I walked away knowing which ones were liked the most, and which needed improvements. One of the designs decided to give up on all together because I had too may elephants and an elephant in a top hat was getting too hard to pull off.
Today:
New designs roll out slowly because I'm picky and hypercritical of my work. I want every AudToggery piece you wear to be a statement of YOU and be worthy of the person wearing it! For example, I have a platypus graphic I've been working on for a few months now, I know when it's done it'll be amazing, but getting to that point while shuttling kids to and from school, and to many many doctor appointments makes my platypus progress feel less like the marsupial that it is and more like a snail!
