Many years ago with degrees in hand, Aunt Betty began working (and learning) in the Fine Jewelry industry. She saw that pieces of wearable art really did glow when it was put on the right person. She witnessed wives overwhelmed with joy; friends jaw dropped at the generosity of friends; and women gaining a self confidence never seen before by the self purchase of beautiful, unique and intriguing works of wearable art.
Aunt Betty loves witnessing people gain joy from their jewelry purchases.
She also knew she needed to know more! So began the lifelong journey of becoming a Graduate Gemologist and Personal Design Specialist. In this pursuit, Aunt Betty has learned the ins and outs of Fine Jewelry Design and manufacturing, metallurgy, gemology, diamondology and the joy of Holistic Jewelry purchasing.
A few years ago, Aunt Betty, being true to her environmentally conscious being, decided that her true calling lie ahead in the 'recycling' of gorgeous Vintage and Antique Costume and Fine Jewelry. She felt there was no need to continue to harvest from the Earth to have incredible artistic jewelry.....there was plenty of remarkable pieces already there! Plus, collectors no longer had to pay so much money to have viable works of art!
In her passion for life, Aunt Betty belongs to Rotary International, supports several 'no kill' animal shelters; several non-profit humanitarian organizations, like Hillcrest Ministries,that feed the hungry and teach life skills to the homeless; and of course, numerous organizations that keep our air, water and food, clean.
Every dollar that you spend with Aunt Betty's Curio goes to operating expenses of the business, cost of the wearable art items, and the above mentioned non-profit organizations.
