Announcement   Unique handmade recycled jewelry made with a vintage Steampunk flair. Welcome to Aunt Matilda's Jewelry Box! I invite you take a moment to look around. Each piece is specially designed and made with love for you. I use found objects and recycled parts to capture that nostalgic feeling of a time gone by.

My great Aunt Matilda was a strong willed independent woman with a practical, and at times opinionated and outspoken character. She had a passion for travel far ahead of other women in her time. She led a most adventurous life, traveling the world for over 60 years and visiting exotic places such as Japan, France, China, Persia, and Tibet. In her travels, Matilda met with the ruler of Egypt, and dealt with bandits. In France, back in the fall of 1889, she even met Jules Verne! Throughout her adventures she collected objects and antiquities from the far reaches of the continent.

I remember, as a small girl examining the accumulated treasures that she brought back in her leather gripsack and listening intently as her stories were retold. It is with her spirit that I create the treasures that you will find inside Aunt Matilda's Jewelry Box!

Now you can recapture that spirit by unlocking Aunt Matilda's Jewelry Box. Once inside the jewelry box, you will see that many of the pieces tell a story about the exciting events in Aunt Matilda's life.

You can add these handcrafted designs to your own jewelry box and make them part of your story. Whether you are looking for something for yourself or a special gift for someone else, each purchase leaves Aunt Matilda's Jewelry Box in a tiny blue organza bag and includes a Tibetan silver "Made with love" charm.
I work hard to design original, unique keepsake jewelry and heirloom creations, therefore each piece may vary slightly.

I have been part of the etsy community since 2012 and I have been selling at art fairs since 1988. If you see something you like in the jewelry box, but would prefer a different color, material or quantity, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. I have recently opened a store called Aunt Matilda's Steampunk Trunk. It is located at 106 St. George St in St. Augustine, Florida, inside the shops at st. George's Row.

Thank you for stopping by to look, please visit often because new pieces are added weekly.

Unlock the Jewelry Box!

It is with that excitement that I named my shop, "Aunt Matilda's Jewelry Box." It's that experience that I want you to have each time you visit my store.

I enjoy creating jewelry reminiscent of a bi-gone era. I have been told that I have an old soul and I believe it to be true because I love and appreciate all things vintage. In fact I raised my kids in Victorian house in Ohio.

For the most part, I use found objects and recycled materials in my art, I strive for a vintage look. I use glass, metal, natural stones and polymer clay and a lot of love to create each piece for you. My sense of humor and whimsy comes through in many of my pieces. Many of the Steampunk necklace collages are built using vintage text pages. I set them outside to further the aging process, then I place them in a frame or under a filigree. Next I use my magic potion to build the collage. When it's finished I assemble the chain and put the piece together.
