I love it! I purchased this wallet for the days when I want to get out without having to lug around my purse (Yep I'm a female!). It looks exactly like the photo and it arrived quickly -it's perfect! Thank you!
Medicine, gaming, history and art
I have been making art since I was a child. I started out only drawing animals, but eventually branched out and started to draw Japanese-style manga, which still influences the way I draw today. I then found the beauty of polymer clay, and from there I have been trying out many new venues of crafting pieces of art. After making a plastic shakuhachi (Japanese flute) for a college world music class, I found myself entranced with the crafting process to make them and have crafted many since. I then started making them for friends and family for fun.
Later when I decided to pursue a career in the medical field, I stumbled upon the history of the doctors of the Bubonic Plague through a computer game called Team Fortress 2. In it, my favorite character (the Medic) had a cosmetic item called the Blighted Beak, and ever since I saw that mask I have been fascinated by them. After seeing how many people made their masks, I decided to make one of my own, and after about a year of learning leatherworking and developing and perfecting patterns, I now have several signature templates. I waited long enough to ensure that I had the proper skills to make the masks; I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I feel that it should show in anything that I make.
It was at that point that I decided that I wanted to show my pieces of art to the world, and after hearing about Etsy from a family friend, felt that it was the perfect platform. And here I am today! I'm now a Registered Nurse, pursuing my dreams! And if it wasn't for this shop and all of you, I honestly don't know where I would be. So thanks to all of you, and to those of you who are just now dropping by, I hope that you enjoy the pieces that I post here. Each and every mask is unique in one way or another, and everything is done by hand, the old fashioned way. They are all made individually with love and special attention to individual detail, so there will always be something new to see!
