About BBHPhoto
brief background about Battle Born Historical Photography & Etsy
With years of computer/electrical engineering combined with an arts background and love history, I’ve ventured down some interesting paths, many of them have been craft orientated. As a child, I had a fascination a broad range of subjects, often surrounding the arts, I started drawing and crafting my own doll houses, furniture, spaceships and so on from whatever materials I could find. Additional, I was introduced to living history and various crafts such as spinning, weaving etc. through my parents, at places like the Northern California Renaissance fair – This didn’t stop there. Today my partner and I, have tried a few different ventures, utilizing a combination of our skills and knowledge, everything crafting miniature buildings for garden railways to running an antique booth.
Within the last several years, we’ve both gotten back into reenacting, only in mid 1800’s principally the American Civil War, as part of that I also learned the primary photographic process used during the 19th-century, called Wet-plate Collodion photography, This turned into it’s own thing, causing us to expand from Reenacting to doing living history, working as 19th-century photographers. Then drawing from our experience dealing antiques, my experience from building miniatures, we created Battle Born Historical Photography.
Where we specialize in; bringing historical photography alive!
This store provides us to with a place to list some of our antiques and handcrafted items along with some my art.
