I have purchased plugs from different shops and different websites but this shop has had the best quality plugs I have ever purchased. They are absolutely beautiful.

About

Before Modern Astronomy...

My name is Paxten Amelia and I am the founder of BMA Modified. I was born and lived my early years in Indonesia. My bloodline came from the Dayak tribe of Kalimantan from my maternal's side and Pribumi from my paternal's side. Growing up in a country that is connected with its indigenous and cultural artisanship, led me to a career path filled with endless possibilities. I used to watch the bone carvers deal with the local butcher and leather tanner to buy his materials in bulk. Then I would hop over to watch the women weave tenun ikat using hundreds of uncontrollable strings. Before the sun would set, I'd make my last stops to the jewelry district to watch the lost wax jewelers cast the pieces he worked on the day before. It was such a blessing to understand that the most beautiful pieces of art came from determination and limited resources. The bond between artisans and their medium were deeper than anyone could ever understand and I wanted to feel that.

I left Indonesia and settled down in Los Angeles. Although it was a horrifying adjustment leaving everything that I used to know, I had to find a way to fill the void. I dedicated my life to design and commerce and received my BFA in textiles and fashion design from CSULB in 2013. I kept in touch with the artisans from back home and created modified jewelry using traditional techniques. I have close relationships with everyone who create the products for BMA all the way from our wood turner to our lapidary artists. Our antique brass pieces are sourced from my travels to Borneo and our custom brass jewelry are hand carved and casted from our custom specifications. I travel often to source materials and learn jewelry design from different artisans. It's the constant chase for completion and perfection that has driven our team to maintain a high standard in everything that we do. And I hope that you can see the passion and meticulous attention to detail we have for our products. Without the support of our clients and fans, we wouldn't be where we are right now. I sincerely thank you for all your contributions and help over the years and hope to continue to serve the modified community for many years to come.

I am a fashion design graduate from CSULB with artisan education in lapidary and jewelry art. I started BMA in 2008 with the goal to create a private label modified jewelry store and learned all the ins and outs of the art of lapidary to silversmith.
