About

Feel the Good Vibes ... Every String Has Been Played!

We are singer songwriters in the San Francisco Bay Area. For many years, we toured the West and Southwest, performing our original songs in small venues and house concerts. Always the perfectionist when it comes to acoustic guitar tone, Greg changed strings on our four acoustic guitars every week.

Leaving a trail of used guitar srings in the landfills of the towns we visited just wasn't our style, so Bev kept all the strings. She started upcycling them into jewlery that we sold at our performances.

We stick closer to home these days and don't change our strings quite so often, so we now collect used strings from our troubador friends around the country as well as from our favorite local guitar store, Keith Holland Guitars in Los Gatos. Bev is on a constant quest to create new designs, using as much of every set of strings as possible. The sections of string that are not used for jewelry are sent to metal recycling through the D'Addario & Co. string recycle program.

B Strings are sold here on Etsy, as well as at our performances and local art faires.

  • Bev Barnett

    Owner, Designer, Marketer

Bev is a singer, songwriter, and creator of B Strings. I began making jewelry from our guitar strings for sale at our performances. Now I also collect gently used strings from guitar shops & fellow musicians to upcycle into B Strings jewelry.

  • Greg Newlon

    Maker

Bev's husband Greg is a gifted guitarist and songwriter. In the recording studio, he's the boss. In the B Strings studio, he sorts strings, clips the ball ends to be used for beads, hammers metal & makes our displays. He also provides used strings!

  • Keith Holland Guitars

    Source Materials

We get the majority of our used guitar strings from the luthier repair staff at Keith Holland Guitars in Los Gatos, California. What we don't use, we send to metal recycling through the D'Addario & Co. string recycling project.
