Sewing trendy, quality things for baby!

About five years ago I got my first sewing machine at the local Walmart. I didn't know hardly a thing about sewing or even where to begin, but I had three little children and was eager to learn how to sew for them. I wanted unique and trendy outfits for my babies at a fraction of the cost of buying them new. So, I got to work. I mainly taught myself with the help of youtube and friends who are sewers, and as time went on (years) I became better and more excited. There were many a night when all the kids and hubby were asleep and there I was sewing away!!! Sometimes tearfully and frustrated trying my best to teach myself. Lots of trial and error, but practice makes perfect and I eventually got the hang of it. When I tried out a serger for the first time, I knew I HAD to have one! With the professional seams and superior durability, I couldn't wait. I promptly ordered one the next day.Since then I feel like the possibilities for designing and sewing cute little clothes for babies is endless!!! I absolutely love it!!! I have come a long way in the five years since I have started sewing and am eager to share my creations with others. I now have FIVE adorable children (yes I said five) :) Who inspire me everyday. Although with five little ones underfoot, it can sometimes be a challenge to find the time to squeeze in some sewing, but later when they're all tucked in their beds, I get to work. Its my therapy and my favorite hobby.
My dear husband was the one who suggested I sell my creations on Etsy. He was impressed with the quality and even admitted that he thought they were cute! LOL:) He has been such a trooper through everything. He has been the one to patiently fix my serger when something isn't working right, or watch the kids for a few hours so I can sew uninterrupted, as well as just encouraging me and telling me he is proud! What a gem!

Over the years I have learned that my favorite fabrics to sew with are cotton lycra knits and organic cotton knits because of their comfort, breathe ability, and quality. Our sweet little babies deserve only the best quality fabrics on their delicate skin! I also recently started doing a little bit of fabric design of my own on spoonflower, and some of my prints are in my shop! The fabric is a nice soft interlock organic knit.

I am so happy to be able to share my creations with you on etsy. The perfect excuse for me to design new little outfits and to sew! Having an etsy shop has fueled my creativity in a way that I cant get enough of. Thank you to all who purchase anything from my little shop.
