In December of 2015, I was looking for a way to use a beautiful piece of fabric I had picked up at a flea market. I was simultaneously searching high and low for a special holiday gift, and ultimately decided to design and hand-craft a dog bed using the fabric I had on hand. The end result was a hit, and I realized there was a hole in the market for high-quality, design-driven pet beds like the one I had made.

As an interior designer and dog owner, I was driven to develop something both beautiful and practical: a bed with a removable and washable cover, with an insert that wouldn’t get lumpy or flat, and an aesthetic that you would actually want to display in your home, rather than kick behind the sofa when guests arrive. Over the course of the next year, I repeatedly tweaked both the insert and cover design, selling various iterations of the beds through word of mouth and Etsy, and forming production partnerships to ensure consistency and meet growing demand.

Our signature pet beds and pillows are made out of beautiful textiles from around the world. We hand-select each piece, launder and inspect them, and send them off for mending. Because these fabrics are hand-stiched and sometimes worn by time, they often benefit from small repairs or reinforcements, which increase their longevity. This process contributes to the unique nature of each piece, and is not considered a defect.

After mending, each piece of fabric is backed with unbleached cotton muslin, and then sewn into a beautiful bed or pillow cover. They are finished off with overlocked seams and heavy-duty YKK zipper closures. Our exceptional inserts were carefully developed and are custom-made to our specifications. They have channels sewn in, which helps maintain an even distribution of the super soft down alternative stuffing and enables the bed to keep its shape over time. The end result is a carefully crafted and beautiful bed that is soft, luxurious, and high-quality.

In addition to custom options, we also offer beds made from off the bolt fabrics; these undergo a similar production process, yielding beautiful and durable results.
