The print looks great, the pictures on the website don't do justice to how good these look in person. I'm very happy with how they came out. This will be a great gift. Very securely packaged and arrived perfect.
Great quality, exceptional customer service!
Looking forward to hanging this in my office!
BadAxeDesign was opened in 2011 but I really started putting a lot of time into it in early 2012 when we starting doing shows.
My company takes its name after the BadAxe River in southwest Wisconsin where I spend a lot of time fishing with my family. It is a river with a lot of history and beauty.
I am a painter, and a block printer. Most of my work on this site is from my block printing medium. I carve linoleum covered blocks with gouges to create the images you see. Each one is hand pressed and printed from the block. I carry a sketchbook with me almost everywhere and most pieces originate as a sketch from one of my ideas.
Twice a year I get down to the southern part of our country to do some saltwater fishing and once or twice a year my wife and I go out west to feed that need:) I spent five years living in Montana and that part of the country will always be very special.
My wife and I love living in Wisconsin with our son and two dogs. We love the supper clubs, the cows, the lakes and especially the rivers. The Midwest has an underrated and highly unique culture with some unbelievable landscapes and people. I draw much of my inspiration from the miles of streams in our state as well as those I travel to.
Thanks for checking out my work! I hope you enjoy it.
Avid fly-fisherman, lover of Wisconsin.
I named my design studio after the Badaxe River in western Wisconsin where I spend a lot of time fly fishing with my wife and friends.
Most of the work you will see in my store comes from block prints that I hand carve and print. These are all inspired by my love of fish, catching fish and visiting places where fish live. I carry a sketchbook most places I go and lay down all sorts of plans for future carvings.
Recently we have started finding retail partners that carry my hand-made artwork and apparel. You can find more information on these retailers on my website: www.BadAxeDesign.com
Thank you for visiting my store!
