Bloomers Landscaping was founded by Tj Mattison in 1991. With a Bachelor's Degree in Botany and a Master's Degree in Plant Physiology, Tj's hands-on approach goes far beyond just the cosmetic. He understands the science behind the plants and educates his team, as well as customers on putting the right plant in the right place. Our desire is to provide customers with a unique, natural oasis. Because of this, we found ourselves researching and ordering perennials, shrubs and trees that you won't find at your average plant nursery. This "Bloomed" into Bloomers BadAss Botanicals in 2018, when we opened our retail greenhouse.

The name originated from our preference of plants that can cut, scratch or give you a rash. Our personal greenhouse was filled with unusual succulents, cacti, and euphorbias. Our promise is to provide a wide array of unusual perennials, shrubs, trees, annuals and houseplants. In 2020, our world changed, with the pandemic we started an online store which morphed into this Etsy store as of November 2021. We are thrilled to share our BadAss plants with wider customer base of BadAss plant people.

Unique plants are our specialty. If you find yourselves in Southern Illinois, outside of the St. Louis area, come visit us in quaint Grantfork.
