You cannot go wrong with the stunning craftsmanship that Baerreis offers. These forks are gorgeous, incredibly well made, and even the packaging is quaint. Cannot say enough. They wear wonderfully with no snags in my hair. My package arrived quite quickly, too. Thank you so much! I will wear the 3 prong very often . The ebony wood fork is just elegant.

Designs by Baerreis is the selling venue for the work of four independent artists who happen to be family.
Our new showroom - Gallery 26 in Murphy is now open for several months!
Phil and Martha collaborate on the design and execution of their beautiful sculptural containers, kitchen ware, puzzles and hair accessories.. Working since 1972 they are grateful for the opportunity to continue to design and create new work.
Elisabeth works in metals and glass - creating beautiful fused glass jewelry as well as doing textile design and painting.. Her cloisonne' and enamel work are gorgeous.
Nathan is a painter, poet and photographer.. He finds beauty in the oddest places and makes pendants with his images that are close to the heart..
We do repeat designs and one of a kind pieces in wood, glass, metal, textiles, photography, oils, watercolor and print..
We make band saw boxes, puzzle boxes, fused glass jewelry, art cards, photographic prints, hair forks and sticks, wood spoons and hand hewn bowls.. pocket and lipstick mirrors, buttons and pins and magnets.. all from our original art photos or paintings or drawings... We knit, crochet and sometimes work in clay.
We believe in freedom and we believe in the power of kindness, love and mutual respect and consideration.
The things we have in common and share are a love for nature and all things living. We love the process and take pride in each item we make. We are individuals and have strong opinions. We don't do trendy. We sign our work and take responsibility for it. We also take responsibility for our choices in life. We are not neat. We love to read. We cook from scratch and eat little or no meat.. We care intensely about the world and the people in it. We expect no special treatment, yet we know we are a little different. We also know we are not that different from indigenous artisans working long hours on dirt floors doing hand work. Work is our friend - and we are grateful that we can do it.
Our lives are full of creativity, pets, dust, books, projects, papers, doodles, lists of things to do and things we will never get around to doing.
Life is Good!
Nathan works in many media - mainly photography here, but he is a wordsmith, painter, doodler and makes art.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I work in several mediums - Here on Etsy, I primarily focus on my hand carved hair accessories..
Elisabeth loves color and texture - whether painting silk or canvas, manipulating molten glass, clay or silver; knitting, crocheting - her work is always meticulously well designed and done..
Phil is well known for his beautiful band saw work. His bowls and boxes are original, whimsical as well as functional works of art.
