We're So Glad to be Here. It's All Thanks to You!

I thought it was about time (past time, really!) to update our page. We have been on Etsy now for a little over a year. What a great year it's been! First of all I need to say this: Thank you, thank you, thank you. To say we are grateful is not enough. We wouldn't have this business without you, our customers and potential customers. The Etsy community is so incredibly kind, helpful, and fantastic to work with. We are having a wonderful time and are inspired by you (your friendliness, creativity, and great ideas) every single day.

Our Mission:

It's pretty simple, really: We want to provide professional quality purse hardware, supplies and tools to the handbag hobbyist and small manufacturer. We distinguish ourselves from the competition by being extremely attentive to quality, having excellent packaging, very quick shipping, and outstanding communication (you will know when your order ships, you will be notified of any postal delays, and we will confirm with you when we're apprised of your package's delivery.)

We hope we'll hear from you. We have taken countless suggestions from our customers. Is there something that we're not carrying that you wish we would? We're open to having specialty pieces manufactured (and we've done so quite a few times.) I've gotten great advice from customers about all sorts of things, even which keywords I should be using to attract more customers. All comments, criticisms, critiques, and compliments (especially those!) are really truly appreciated.

Mostly, I need to say thank you again. We are so happy to be part of the Etsy community.

* Addendum...On October 1st, 2014 we opened a second Etsy store, Bucktown Studio. It is an outlet for my creative pursuits. Sort of an experimental lab, if you will. Sadly, I haven't been able to devote much time to Bucktown Studio, Bagmaker Supply demands my full attention these days.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can either return your order for a full refund of the item price or exchange it for something else. Shipping charges will also be refunded if the return is because of an error on our part.

Just send us an Etsy Conversation within 5 business days of receiving your item letting us know that you are returning the item or that you want an exchange.

Returned or exchanged products must be in the condition you received them and in the original packaging with shipping prepaid.

If you are returning an item because of an error on our part, please let us know that before you ship the item back as we may be able to provide you with a prepaid return shipping label.

We suggest that you return the item using a service with a tracking number and we would appreciate it you send us the tracking number so we can expect your package.

Refunds are generally processed within 1 business day of receiving and inspecting the returned item and will be made to the same payment method you originally used.

Shipping
Items listed on Etsy are in stock and will ship as quickly as possible. While the current pandemic related restrictions are causing issues, almost all orders received by 2:00 pm (Chicago time Monday - Friday excluding USPS Postal Holidays) will ship the same day. All other orders will ship the next business day. You will receive a Thank You / confirmation eMail and Convo that will include the actual ship date.

While USPS Priority Mail, USPS Express Mail, UPS, FedEx and DHL do automatically provide a limited amount of insurance, USPS First Class (including First Class Package Service) does not. We suggest that you consider adding (or increasing the amount of) insurance for shipments as we cannot be responsible for orders that have shipped but have not been delivered or have been lost in transit. Please contact us for information on any additional cost.

International Buyers – Please Note:

We will gladly ship our products anywhere in the world, and we value our international customers. All of our shipping is based on the weight of the items ordered and the shipping container, but due to greatly varying international postal rates (and rules), we use the Etsy Shipping Calculator to calculate the shipping. We ask our international customers to send us a conversation and we will advise the exact shipping cost to your country of your entire order. We will refund any excess shipping / handling charges when your purchase has shipped.

We also ask our international customers to include their phone number for the customs form.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility, as is the legality of importing the item.

Please check with your country's customs office to determine what your additional costs will be prior to buying.
