My name is Inga, and behind the Balinga Pattern brand – a combination of my first and last name – stands me. This is my personal signature of quality.
My love for sewing blossomed in childhood while watching my grandmother create – she was the very first person who taught me how to sew. The very first sewing machine that my grandmother used, and the one I took my first stitches on, still stands proudly in my sewing studio today as my most cherished keepsake.
This curiosity led me to a sewing club in school, followed by vocational tailoring studies, and eventually, a university degree in Clothing Production Engineering. For two decades, I have been drafting patterns for luxury fashion brands, and today, I am sharing this expertise with you.
Today, sewing is more than just my job; it’s my way of life. I pass this knowledge on to the next generation by teaching children the art of sewing and pattern making in an after-school club. My greatest proud-mom moment? My own 12-year-old daughter is already capable of drafting and sewing simpler garments all by herself!
I don't believe in theoretical sketches on a screen. I thoroughly test every style myself: I sew real garments, check multiple sizes on various body shapes, and ensure a flawless fit. All that's left for you is the best part – the joy of sewing.
