The average fan does not know there are Ballhawks in every city where there is baseball being played . I've seen ballhawks from age 5 to 95 chasing down baseballs at over 100 ballparks at the minor and major league levels . Baseballs often find their way out of the park either fair for home runs or fouled off over the grandstands into the parking lot or streets surrounding the ballpark ( and yes foul balls do go over the roof at Wrigley onto Clark and Addison every game ) . Where as most young baseball fans start off collect cards to help them connect with their favorite teams or players Ballhawks switch to spending their time and energy chasing down the official Rawlings baseball .
Starting at age 8 and continuing throughout the years the rush of catching a home run never gets old to me . It is a hobby like no other . The ball is hit out of the park in your direction and for that moment you are part of the game .
Each of the baseballs I catch are tagged and placed in baggies to keep track of them and later an official Ballhawk.Net numbered tamper evident hologram is place on it . These balls are either displayed in my every growing baseball room or cut up to make the jewelry offered here .
Unlike other jewelry makers I cover each piece with multiple coats of resin to help keep intact each unique scuff or piece of dirt / grass stain as it was the day it was used on the ball field .
