I love this necklace. It's a nice size to wear every day and is really good quality. Edit: 15th September. Just wanted to say I am still very happy with this necklace. Lots of people have asked where I got it from. I covered the back with a thin layer of clear nail varnish as suggested just to help protect the necklace as I love it so much.

Much bigger than I expected, but that's probably my fault for not looking at the measurements. It was a gift and she loves it.

About

Welcome to Dancing Moon

Bama + Ry is now Dancing Moon!

Bama + Ry had a baby boy! And in welcoming beautiful baby Elliot to the world, it’s time for new beginnings for the business, too. On August 1st, 2015, Bama + Ry underwent a metamorphosis and was reborn bearing a new name: Dancing Moon. As Jasmine and Ryan’s focus shifts to building a family, they’ve graciously passed the torch of wearable, empowering words-as-jewelry to Bama + Ry’s Production Coordinator, Naomi Martnick. Bama + Ry (the people) have a beautiful new child and Bama + Ry (the business) has a loving new parent.

Please note: This is not your average transfer of a business to new ownership. Naomi has been an essential part of BamaRy since April 2014 when she was hired as a production assistant. Jasmine and Naomi became good friends and within a matter of months Naomi’s work at Bama + Ry matured into the role of Production Coordinator.

Shortly after becoming pregnant, and after a great deal of soul-searching, Jasmine and Ryan made the difficult decision to exit the world of jewelry-making once the baby arrived. To ensure a bright, exciting future for the business, they encouraged Naomi to adopt it, and she happily accepted. Since that decision was made, the production studio has moved to Naomi’s house in Portland and Naomi has taken over every facet of Bama + Ry operations.

Naomi is a strong believer in the powerful combination of art and language central to Bama + Ry’s designs. As a skilled artist passionately devoted to the mission of empowering women, she is the perfect person to faithfully carry on the bold spirit of Bama + Ry’s work. The production of most of the classic Bama + Ry hand-stamped designs people have come to know and love will continue, and many will soon be offered in sterling silver!

Naomi’s own work at Dancing Moon is all about creating unique and inspiring jewelry that harnesses the healing power of gems and symbols. With this theme in mind, an entirely new line of unique hand-stamped designs that thoughtfully and beautifully integrate the healing power of gemstones with hand-stamped words and symbols is currently being developed. And, just like the old Bama + Ry, Dancing Moon encourages custom designs and orders, too.

About Dancing Moon's Inspiration Line

You? You right there, reading this? You are enough, just like you are. Right now, in your pajamas with your Netflix and that jar of Nutella. You don’t need us (or anyone else) to tell you that. So this jewelry we’re creating? It’s us doing our part to empower every woman to remember her worth and chase her dreams. We're doing that too.

Dancing Moon’s new Inspiration line began as a sparkle in the mind of the brilliant designer and wordsmith, Jasmine Myers of Bama + Ry. Navigating a painful twin pregnancy loss and heartbreaking infertility led Jasmine back to her jewelry making roots, where she was finally able to bring together her passions for writing and jewelry. The result was a boutique jewelry line that lets bold women live out loud. Now that Jasmine has given birth to a beautiful baby boy, Elliot, the Bama+Ry line has been handed over to Naomi Martnick, owner of Dancing Moon, who is expanding the line to include fresh new designs that harness the healing power of gemstones and symbols.

Handmade and designed in Portland, Oregon, the jewelry breaks the high fashion mold with a focus on expressing every woman’s unique spirit. Women that wear Dancing Moon jewelry are vibrant and passionate. They take life by storm, and you can’t hold them down. They run businesses and marathons, chase children and dreams, and spread strength and kindness throughout their communities because they have it in spades. What started as a jewelry collection dedicated to inspiring others now reflects the spirit of our incredible customers and, as such, continually inspires us.

Dancing Moon was founded in Portland, OR by Naomi Martnick in April, 2014. Although still in its infancy, Dancing Moon’s unique, uplifting jewelry has already brightened the lives of hundreds of women. Since launching in July of 2012, the original Bama + Ry designs have shipped to more than 20 countries and can be found in boutiques and catalogs across the United States.

NOTES ON METAL JEWELRY

My jewelry is lead free. I work in mostly COPPER, NICKEL, and BRASS. Some people have metal allergies. Please read the complete listings or convo me to determine if the listing contains nickel.

About Oxidation and Skin Discoloration

All metals oxidize to some extent. Mostly (though not always), skin discoloration isn’t caused by allergy. Rather, it’s a reaction between the skin and metal, especially when jewelry is damp (sweat, water, humidity, etc).

Protecting the Jewelry & Your Skin

I use Renaissance Wax on the front of each pendant to slow the effects of oxidation over time. I use Jewelry Shield on the back of each pendant where it will sit against the skin. All coatings wear with time. However, clear nail polish applied to the BACK of your pendant can also protect skin from the effects of metal oxidation.

TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY

Never leave your jewelry is humid places, such as the bathroom. Do not place jewelry near prolonged heat or in direct sunlight. Do not shower or submerge jewelry in liquid.

Keep your jewelry in an airtight container (like a jewelry box!) to prevent the natural tarnishing of the metal.

Items can be cleaned with polishing cloth or silver cleaner. However, please keep in mind that most of my jewelry is oxidized for a "rustic" affect and cleaning your jewelry will likely take it back to its natural "shiny copper" state.

If the product contains gemstones or semi-precious stones, do not dip the stones in a liquid cleaner. This can damage stones! Use only a polishing cloth on stones.
