A not-so-little bird tells me what should go into my jewelry designs.... Actually, we go back and forth about it quite a bit.

In all seriousness, when I'm not designing with colors and living textures in my garden, I play with colorful stones and a potpourri of artisan components in my handcrafted jewelry. It does take some finagling to get just the right combinations in either situation, but I really don't mind when winter arrives now because the tools are so much more varied in jewelry-making, and there are plenty of new techniques to keep me busy.

I work with sterling and fine silver, brass, and most often copper, and almost all the metalwork you see in my pieces is my own at this point, as I've gradually acquired a range of tools and additional skills. Still, I'm always happy to incorporate components from other artisans into my jewelry--whether irresistible lampwork glass beads, colorful ceramic or polymer clay pendants, exceptional enamels, or textured pieces crafted in metal clay. I favor simplicity but also variety, and I don't imagine I'll ever be able to do all that by myself.

Of course, I'm inspired by others' work, and I learn a bit more from everyone whose work makes its way into my own. I like to say my handmade pieces are the work of many hands, including nature's.

Frequently asked questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

Purchases are gift-boxed, and I'd be happy to add a special note.

Multiple items are usually sent in a single box to keep your shipping and handling charge lower, but I can include more than one gift box if you care to select Priority shipping or make a special request.

Sizing details

See a necklace you'd like longer, or earrings that might look better on you a bit shorter? Not sure about how different bracelets are sized?

Just message me, and I'd be happy to explain or consider adjusting my pieces so they'll suit your preference.

Care instructions

Storing your jewelry in an airtight place (like in an ordinary plastic bag) will slow tarnishing, but you can use a soft jeweler's polishing cloth (NOT liquids) to keep your silver, copper, or brass jewelry lustrous. Of course, always keep jewelry dry and chemical-free.

Some of my copper components are sealed to preserve a patina (as noted in item descriptions), but not all of them, as part of the charm of copper is that it darkens with age. If your skin is particularly sensitive to copper (i.e., turns green), I can arrange to seal your ear wires or suggest alternatives if contacted before a purchase.
