About

It's been a long journey

I started crafting as a child in the 70’s, making clothes for my Barbie doll, ornaments for the Christmas tree, and anything else that struck my fancy. By 1987 I was sewing on my own machine and continued to make clothing, quilts, and dolls giving many as gifts. After starting a family, I concentrated on making my children’s clothes, costumes, and home décor.

I’ve been selling my handmade items on Ebay since 1999 and started selling at craft shows in 2009. In 2010 I joined Etsy.com crafting community. You can find regular updates and links to my products on my Barbie Lynn’s facebook page.

I LOVE the environment, recycling and reusing/repurposing old or used items. I make everything I sell except for any vintage/antique items. I often blend the past to the present by using older fabrics, patterns, buttons, or ribbon. In addition to sewing, I also crochet, knit, cross-stitch & glue my crafts.

I am so happy to welcome to my BarbieLynn’s etsy shop. Come in, make yourself at home. Kick off your shoes, get comfy and take a deep breath. Feels good, right? This is how I feel when I craft. It centers me and I am so proud of what I create. Sharing with you brings me joy.

Payment
I prefer Paypal or payment by credit card through Etsy, but I will also take a personal check by mail. If you pay via a personal check, I will hold your purchase so that it may not be sold to another customer, and send it to you after the check has cleared... usually 7-10 business days.
Shipping
I will ship ready-made items same or next day, via the method of your choosing. If it is a flat charge, it will be via the United States Postal Service (first class/parcel post or media – if applicable.

I have engaged in online sales on auction-type sites since 1999, and ship world-wide.

I have had great success with the USPS, but please note that I do not assume responsibility for packages lost in transit. However, I will try to help you resolve your shipping issue if at all possible from my end.
Refunds and Exchanges
I take great care to photograph and describe each item accurately. I will gladly exchange or fix an item, if for some reason it arrives in an “incomplete” condition (for example, if I forgot to sew on a button due to late-night project finishing, and shipped it out before noticing). Please drop me a note with your concern. If re-work is needed and the item is shipped back for needed work, I will refund return shipping upon completion and ship the re-worked item free of charge. Item must be returned within 10 days of original receipt for reworking option.

I want you to be happy with your purchase! I may agree to accept a return for "store credit" on a ready-to-ship item, depending on the circumstances. I absolutely will not accept returns or exchanges for buyer’s remorse, buying under the influence (it happens – it really does, LOL) or if you wait longer than 7 days to notify me of a problem.

I ship all breakables in bubble wrap, packing peanuts, recycled Styrofoam, and appropriate sized shipping boxes. I take great care to package breakables to survive drops, bumps, drop kicks and punts, however… should you need to issue a claim, please feel free to contact me first. DO NOT THROW AWAY THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX OR ANY PACKING MATERIALS –THIS REALLY IS IMPORTANT.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS:

Please message me for custom orders. Deposits are usually either 50% of completed price, OR your supplying the integral "ingredient" to the order such as a hardbound book to made into a purse, or the sports/college t-shirt to be made into a dress. Once a custom order is complete, I will set up a RESERVED listing with pictures, send you a link for you to remit the balance owed.

If a custom order is started, it MAY be cancelled, but please keep in mind that your deposit (whether monetary or material) will not be returned. I incur costs along the way (trips to the fabric/craft supplies stores, accessories, notions) that must be recouped.

Custom orders will be completed and shipped anywhere between 2-6 weeks after deposit (monetary or material) payment is made. PLEASE email me to get an accurate estimate. It all depends on my workload, Holiday schedule, and family schedule.

I want you to be happy with your purchase! However, I cannot accept returns on custom orders. If at all possible, I will exchange an item if it simply does not fit. Please be aware, however, that specific fabrics are not always available, and I may not be able to replace your item with an exact copy. Also be aware that I must treat an exchange for fit purposes as a new custom order, which involves the same time frame as above.
