My favorites! Creating black and white abstracts and Asian inspired art inside amazing vintage frames.
I am an Alabama artist, who has been fortunate enough to be a full time artist for 15 yrs. I enjoy making works that are beautiful yet affordable.
Welcome to my shop! I sold my first painting at 11 years old in Mobile, Alabama. I "played" with art on and off for years, but frankly, never thought I could actually make it a career. It wasn't until I was newly married did I notice a need for affordable artwork. I knew no one I knew was shopping at galleries, so I started playing around with painting. At the time I had two young children (now 19 & 22), and I decided to turn my living room into an art studio. I started small and signed up for local craft and art shows. That took off like crazy. Before I knew it, I was selling 1000 paintings per year! YES! You read that correctly. I sold art in stores and for interior designers for a decade. I had two people working for me. I loved it, but starting hitting a wall.
I stopped painting for a few years, but missed it. I realized that I didn't miss my old style, and if I wanted to paint full time again, I would need to regroup and reinvent my evolving style. So I decided to change my style and combine two loves.... Thrifting and shopping at antique stores for vintage frames, and abstract artwork. I dove head first into my existing Etsy shop, and have not looked back! I have had more fun than I have had in years!!!
Creating and selling original acrylic abstract art on paper, and framing them in beautiful vintage frames has been so much fun! I enjoy playing with color but lately, I am enjoying the black and whites and Asian inspired works more and more.
I offer two different styles of work in my shop. My older style, I now sell as ornaments. (Angel ornaments, lamb ornaments, Christmas ornaments...)
Those pieces originally were sold as very textured abstracts on canvas.
My newer style is mainly original hanging and free standing abstracts that come in vintage frames. And currently, I am offering some 6x9 signed prints.
I love connecting with buyers from all over! Feel free to message me anytime! Connecting through art is so much fun! Some of my favorite pieces in my home came from other Etsy art sellers!
The one thing I have realized over the years, is that everyone has an art story! From buying for friends, buying for their first home, buying for a memory, buying for an anniversary, buying art for a gift, or simply buying for fun.... every story is unique and matters! I absolutely love it!
