About BarrelRaised
That's Some Whiskey Business!
One part business, one part hobby, and one part community brought Barrel Raised to the world.
Ben had been an engraver for years, working with clients across a number of industries, finding it difficult to say no to new projects. One regular source of projects came from customers that had a passion for craft beverages. Having no real knowledge in that area, it pushed him to learn what it was all about. After all, he believed if you are going to work closely with a group of people, you should probably be on the same page!
Craft Beverage 101 started with a dip into beer and cocktails, but it was whiskey that gave a real nudge down the rabbit hole. What started out as a way to help clients become a hobby, and that hobby morphed into obsession. For the next few years, Ben immersed himself in online forums, books, social media groups, tastings, and the building of a spirits library. In the process, he found himself in the ranks of craft spirit enthusiasts - a community from *ALL* walks of life that come together to share in the enjoyment of spirits and camaraderie.
He also learned that the community had a thing for engraved glassware. It was something he had been doing for years already, so, of course, he responded with his engrained motto of "glad to help". Not so fast... They wanted Glencairn glasses, and Glencairn didn't work with just anyone - at the time, it took months of digging, and when the digging ended, it took experimenting to get the finished product to turn out perfectly. Once dialed in, being a part of the spirits community, and being able to bring something to the table, the gates flew open!
Time passed, and it solidified that this wasn't just some fleeting thing, it was the start of a lifetime of learning and collaboration. Working together with enthusiasts, distilleries, bar owners, ambassadors and social media influencers, Ben found that he loved every moment of helping wherever he could, all while absorbing the knowledge imparted from that world.
The mission now is to help others enjoy craft spirits as much as he does. Whether it be delivering personalized products that help to elevate everyday rituals, or just chatting about all things craft and flavor, Barrel Raised is here to help!
Cheers!

Frequently asked questions
Wholesale availability
Most items in the shop are available at wholesale rates. If you would like to purchase items in bulk or have items engraved for your own private label, feel free to send us a message.
As we are engravers first and foremost, the customization/personalization options are extensive, so we have worked with a number of clients on a variety of projects. Situations have called for things as simple as a custom logo on an existing product we already carry, all the way up to the sourcing and creation of new products to meet specific needs.
Just let us know what you have in mind and we will help to the best of our abilities!
Custom and personalized orders
Most everything in our shop is available to be personalized. If you would like something custom to be engraved on your item, please reach out and we will see how to help!
With custom engraving, there are limitations that are unique to the process. Unlike printing, which uses inks or dyes to add a design on to an object, engraving involves the removal of material from an object to create the design. This means that color is typically not an option and certain artwork formats are required to create the engrave-able image (for example, very fine details and greyscale/shading isn't feasible).
Gift wrapping and packaging
We prioritize the safe arrival of your order, so the use of bubblewrap and foam gives the glassware the best possible likelihood of arriving in beautiful condition.
Because of the nature of shipping the glassware in dense packaging, gift wrapping is not feasible at this time.
Care instructions
Glassware, by its nature, is fragile! If handled with care, it can last a lifetime though.
If the engraving appears faded, it is typically from the build-up of oils from handling, soap film, or other dirt - hand washing under running water with a clean cloth and drying with a clean cloth will fix that!
Glass is also subject to thermal stress - quick changes of extreme temperature. Adding hot liquid to a cold glass out of the freezer, or icy liquid to a hot glass right out of the dishwasher, can cause damage.
It is recommend to hand-wash glassware, but from glass manufacturer information, they typically are fine in the dishwasher (treat them as you would any other glassware).
Frosted glasses are the exception - always handwash.
