The necklace is gorgeous, I love it! This is my favorite etsy shop. Cassie is so professional and attentive to her customers' needs. I also couldn't believe how beautiful the packaging was. I feel like I bought a necklace from a 1930's boutique in Paris.

You Are Worth More Than Many Sparrows

I sat at a poorly lit table, watched Pride and Prejudice, and dipped my hands into my great aunt's sewing collection, who was a seamstress by trade. We somehow inherited her reams of lace and boxes of mix matched buttons. Underneath the dust and between the tangles of thread lay magical inspiration.

I crafted simple bird nest necklaces for dear girl friends, origami stars with hidden notes, and homemade cards for bridal showers, birthdays, and weddings.

The desire to bless my friends and family with unique gifts originally birthed the concept of Batch of Sparrows during the whimsical summer of 2011. The same friends and family who received my creative musings inspired me in my craft and saw the potential long before I did. Blame the name, Batch of Sparrows, on a beautiful roommate and a collection of kitchen table chatter. However, my Etsy shop did not open until after a spontaneous trip to California where a man I had never met before encouraged my blossoming creativity in Jesus' name.

I am a high school English teacher from September to June, so Batch of Sparrows took a natural literary twist as I self taught my way into book binding and journal making. While I've been perfecting both my jewelry and paper goods skills, my inventory has taken on a personality of its own, which not surprisingly matches my own.

Batch of Sparrows has just entered into yet another stage, as the shop made its first public debut at a small community flea market. How great it was to commune with fellow crafters and see the delight on a guest's face when she made a joyful purchase for herself or for a friend.

Always looking for new ways to reuse old beauty, I've recently dug through my grandmother's diva sized collection of vintage jewelry. I've repurposed several pieces to match current trends in this decade in which anything goes. May you wear my grandmother's beauty and hear her praise you with a "Hello darling! You look GORGEOUS!"

And always know that you are worth more than many sparrows.

Jesus loves me. I laugh at birds the size of sparrows. I love paper. I sit inside good music. I drool over just the right amount of lace. I inherited my grandmother's jewelry and spice. And Narnia is real.
