Announcement   Everything is entirely done by me in my little backyard shop. PLEASE NOTE......even though i use the best FULL GRAIN leather available (Hermann Oak). There is no such thing as a perfect piece of leather. Most hides from even the best of leather have blemishes such as scars, range marks, areas that stain darker or lighter, etc...etc..... But these small blemishes don't affect durability or longevity in the least. That's what separates full grain leather from vinyl. As a result, your product will not be exactly like anyone else's. If you are looking for perfection in an imperfect natural substance....you would be better off acquiring a man made substance or NON full grain leather. Please remember, there are trade offs ....especially in the leather industry.

Every leather hide tells a unique story and is remarkable in itself. Had God not given us leather through the centuries, I doubt if mankind could have survived the elements. What a wonderful substance it.

ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: I will not be responsible for packages returned to me do to customs fees not being paid. In this case, customer will be responsible for shipping back to them. Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks again.

About

From professional musician to public accountant to songwriter with National TV credits to LEATHERWORKER. What a combination!

Hi. My name is Roger. I live in a small rural town about 300 miles south of Chicago....my little 18 x 24 leather shop is behind my home. My philosophy of life is taken from
1 Thess: 4:11.

I haven't always made my living working with leather as I do now, but I've worked with leather a long time. I enjoy creating useful things out of raw material.

My first exposure to leather was in a little shoe shop my dad would take me into as a small child....and the smell of that place was amazing! My first real job outside of music was repairing leather books...so my leather work goes WAY back.

I learned to play guitar at the ripe old age of 11 and played in bands all the way through school....and as an adult I made my living as a musician for more than 10 years ...spending about 45 weeks a year in motel rooms across this big ole USA. Needless to say, I grew tired of the travel. I started writing and recording songs back in the 90's and had recordings featured in Days of our Lives, Northern Exposure and most recently Friday Night Lights...all on ABC TV. Plus, the BBC and many other places less noteworthy. I still do this today in addition to my leatherwork.

After many diversions and frustrating attempts at my own plans, I learned that life has a way of happening, in spite of ourselves. Leatherwork is another creative outlet for me and I feel blessed to be allowed to work from home doing something I truly enjoy....along with writing and recording music.

Every leather product I craft is made with my own two hands, a few tools and high quality leather. Many hours can go into producing just one of my products as I hand stain most of the leather I use, hand cut it, and either sew it by hand or with an old fashioned hand crank stitching machine that could have been used a century earlier.

My products are completely built by me with NO exceptions. I never outsource my products nor do I use pre-made kits. Everything I do is from 'scratch'.

I've made everything you can imagine and was a holster maker for a couple years which provided a great education in working with veg tan leather and crafting case goods.

To that end, I hope you like my simple work. If you don't see something you need, give me a shout and maybe I can build it for you.

ABOUT THE LEATHER I USE:

I use mainly full grain veg tan saddle/tooling leather .....or in some cases. . . Horween Leather . However, I have access to many different types of leather. Each product listing will list the type of leather I use for your convenience.

Since leather is a natural substance, the 'good stuff' will have minor flaws and imperfections in the grain....which is what sets it apart from a substance such as vinyl. However, these imperfections do not in any way affect the durability or usefulness of the product.

(COLORS appear differently on different monitors. Each product may appear lighter or darker in person. If you have any questions about the color of a product, please CONTACT me before you purchase. )

Shipping
Domestic Orders are shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) priority mail unless otherwise noted. Please note, I don't make money on shipping. I only charge what the usps charges me.

Priority Mail: Estimated 2 - 3 Days

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS are shipped first class mail unless you want to upgrade shipping to Priority or Priority Express: if so, please contact me for a shipping estimate.

* HIGHLY recommend getting insurance on all overseas orders of more than $50. I am not responsible for orders damaged in shipping, lost or delayed by customs. I apologize, but once your order leaves the US, I cannot track it and neither can the usps unless it's shipped by Express Mail which is very expensive. The cheapest route is to request to have your package insured in case of damage or loss. Insurance usually costs from $4 to $10 in addition to the postage cost. If interested in insuring your shipment with USPS, please contact me BEFORE you order and I will give you an insurance price. Or, we can do an upgrade after you order if you prefer.

DUTY and FEES charged on international shipping are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I'm required by law to mark the full value of the item on the customs form.
Refunds and Exchanges
Many hours can go into producing just one of my products as I hand stain the leather, cut it, sew it and apply the finishing. All of my products are made to order at the time of the sale.

I am not a large corporation nor do I have unlimited resources to offer refunds and exchanges. but....

With that said, I try to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated myself.

If you have a problem with something I build for you that was MY FAULT.....all I ask is that you please notify me within ONE WEEK of getting the shipment from me. I will do everything I can to resolve any legitimate issue to your satisfaction. If you buy one of my products as a GIFT for someone else, please be aware that I don't offer refunds or exchanges but I will make the product good if there's a problem with it because of something I did wrong. (Unfortunately, I'm NOT perfect)

I will treat you kindly and with respect, please reciprocate the kindness to me as well. All problems can be resolved and no problem with any of my goods is life threatening... it's just leather folks...not a kidney transplant. Let's keep everything mature and in perspective. :-)

IF a resolution can't be found to your situation, I will issue a refund of the purchase price LESS shipping and handling fees.

Please, NO REFUNDS ON PERSONALIZED GOODS or CUSTOM BUILDS.

Sorry but I don't offer exchanges.

CUSTOM SIZES:
When custom sizing a product, my only guarantee is that the case will not be too small for the item it was built for. I do not guarantee the item if it is a bit larger than you may have wanted it. I'm sorry, but I cannot custom fit items to everyone's exact liking, as there are no two people alike. So, I no longer try to do that. :-) Thanks for your understanding.

ABOUT COLORS:

Please be aware that all leather hides stain or dye differently...even from the same tannery. Some may be darker or lighter than what the pic shows on your monitor. (which can be a problem as well....monitors that is) I do my very best to insure consistency in my work, but some leather hides have a mind of their own, no matter what I do and the end result is sometimes what the 'cow' wants rather than what I'm trying to achieve.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS:

I have access to many different types of leather & I am happy to consider custom built projects. If you don't see what you're looking for, contact me and if I feel I can do your project justice, we can discuss it. If I turn your request down, it's no reflection on you....it would be because I didn't feel I could do justice to your specific project. Please note that custom builds from your pattern or image will typically take a week longer than normal as I work on them in between my regular orders.

Customizations from my patterns, may not take as long.

Thanks
