Silver plate and sterling hollow ware and flatware is an obsession. I had amassed so many pieces they either had to leave or, find a new use. A lidded sugar bowl became a home for cotton balls, a teapot for hair brushes, a tall creamer holds pens, to a pitcher for loose change...

I wondered what stories they would tell if they could talk. Did the compote bend while being polished, was the tea set carried by a butler to the veranda, or was the flatware set so lovingly cared for sold to make ends meet in hard times?

I enjoyed the elegance they added to something so simple as a cup of tea. Guests are amused I think nothing of hauling out silver plate for a backyard barbecue, or an old teapot for beverages.

I wanted to share my passion for these things that seemed to fall out of favor in a now rushed world and to show one doesn't need a fortune to enjoy elegance and whimsy everyday.

When I created the first piece of Mrs. silverware using personal acronyms I felt I was onto something. I had no idea it would receive such accolades. I simply kept adding more pieces hoping finer flatware would grace more tables again. Beach House Living® brand silverware is home of the original stamped silverware for weddings and dining.

Beach House Living seeks silverware in the best condition and inspects each piece to describe it's condition. Often I find never used old stock pieces still wrapped in old tissue or bags yet don't consider them pristine for two reasons (a) the tissue or the bags sometimes leave chafe marks from the pieces being stored on top of one another and (b) once polished evidence of that can be seen. I believe once a piece has been used its condition is classified along the lines of very good, to excellent vintage condition or appear barely used. All pieces are described as bearing signs of their former life; it is a used item after all. Should an item have signs heavy use I do my best to note it for your consideration.

It is quite an honor to have your creations be a part of one of
the most important days in a life and later become a keepsake to pass down.

I wanted to be an artist when I was little, always making something. I had put all that aside for many years until I discovered Etsy, which has proven, dreams and beyond can come true.

I never imagined my creations would be selected by companies and wedding cake designer for promotions and gifts or be featured in print.
