About

BeadDweeb, Biography of a Bead Freak

Beads from around the world! I love to knot them, weave them and combine them. Sometimes I even dream about them.

I beaded my first bracelet in high school. Many years later I took up beading again at The Bead Merchant in Tulsa and have been beading ever since.

I hand knot necklaces, fashion colorful bracelets and make earrings, lots of earrings. Small earrings for people with small features, Murano and crystal earrings for elegant occasions, earrings conservative enough for bankers and wild enough for Bohemians.

On January 28, 2011 I opened BeadDweeb on Etsy to celebrate the colorful chaos of beads I've collected at bead shows, bead shops, at pow wows, over the internet and in antique malls.

Is there something you would like to see in beads? The golf bead counters and plastic hook earrings in my shop began their lives as customer suggestions.

I am grateful to The Bead Merchant in Tulsa, to members of the Intertribal Indian Club of Tulsa and, more recently, to the makers of YouTube videos for teaching me about beads, beading and the business aspects around the edges of selling my work. I am always learning.

Special thanks to my husband Tom, my cousin Chris, and to family and friends for dancing with this "bead freak."

BeadDweeb is registered as a tradename and sole proprietorship in the State of Colorado.

In high school I made my first bracelet, large seed beads in bright colors stitched to calico. Many years later I took up beading again and felt as though I had come home.
