I hope you will enjoy my latest photo shoot with BRIGHTLY COLORED GLASS BEADS and beautiful spring blossoms !

After running a brick & mortar bead shop with my mom I decided to branch out & start selling some of my favorite beads & supplies on Etsy. There are so many great selections of Czech beads, Swarovski crystals, metal components & much more here on my Etsy page! I also participate in a handful of Bead Shows, where I sell an even greater variety of Czech glass beads.

I have been designing & creating beaded jewelry for 15+ yrs. Though seedbeading is one of my more recent endeavors, I love to sit down and take on the challenge of designing something new with 2-hole Czech beads. The design possibilities are endless with the endless varieties of new 2-hole, 3-hole & shaped Czech glass beads currently being manufactured in the Czech Republic.

When I first started beading 2-hole beads were far and few between & usually they were of a Vintage German glass variety, but now they are making a huge come back in Contemporary bead work. I am always excited to see the new designs beaders are creating all over the world with these 2-hole Czech bead innovations.

SuperDuos are by far my favorite variety of 2-hole Czech beads to work with. I feel that the SuperDuo is to the beading world, as the Lego is to the world of toy building blocks. The interlocking shape of the SuperDuo makes it fit together beautifully in so many varieties of bead patterns.

Here are a few thoughts about BeadBistroCrafts Etsy shop -

BEAD QUANTITIES -
~ Some Czech beads are weighed out by the gram (such as the SuperDuo and MiniDuo beads). The quantity of beads per gram can vary depending on the finish & size of the beads. Below are some SuperDuo & MiniDuo approximations.
20 grams of SUPERDUOS - there are approximately 250 - 290 beads
10 grams of SUPERDUOS - there are approximately 130 - 145 beads
10 grams of MINIDUOS - there are approximately 195 - 225 beads

PACKAGE AMOUNTS -
~ We offer smaller retail package amounts for those projects that don't require as many beads. We are now also offering some beads in larger package amounts at BULK BUY prices (Wholesale discounts of 40% - 60% OFF). Please check out the BULK BUYS section for these great deals!

GLASS COLORS & FINISHES -
~ To the best of my knowledge I will inform you about which beads are solid glass colors & which finishes are on these beads in the descriptions of each item.
~ We do our best to make our images as true to color & quality as possible; however, the colors & finishes of these Czech beads can shift slightly from the image you are viewing, for mainly 3 reasons:

1.) LIGHTING -
(the lighting by which they are being viewed can make the color appear darker or lighter/brighter) We do all of our photography in a light box with LED lights- meant to simulate natural day light conditions. The colors may look slightly different in indoor lighting conditions or low light conditions)

2.) COMPUTER MONITORS -
Depending on computer monitor settings, hue & color can shift slightly from our original image of the beads.

3.) PRODUCTION LOTS -
Czech beads are made in Glass Bead Factories, as they have been for many decades. In these factories the beads are pressed & finished. Glass colors are made up of base glass color & sometimes finishes to achieve a whole different color or effect.
Since these beads are made in production lots, each lot (batch) of beads can change slightly from a previous production lot (though it will be given the same color # by the manufacturer).
I do my best to inform you within the description, if to my eye, there are noticeable color or finish differences from one lot to the next.

QUALITY CONTROL -
~ Since many of these 2-hole Czech beads are pressed you may find from time to time, that one of the holes is clogged. Please check the 2nd hole as you are stringing each bead in your pattern to make sure the 2nd hole is not clogged. Though you will probably only find this in 2-4 beads per pack, it does occur, and checking both holes will save you from frustration when you are in the middle of your bead project.

SHIPPING ADDRESS ERROR
If you notice an error in your shipping address, please message us ASAP. Our processing time is quick & once the item is shipped to the wrong address, there is nothing we can do to reroute it to the correct address. If the package ends up getting returned to us (returned to sender), we are happy to re-ship the package back to (+ shipping charge). It may be worth trying to re-route your package with the tracking information through USPS if this situation happens to you.

Customs can hold packages for up to 40 days. Your package is considered proprietary information and law prohibits us to call your customs office. We are also not able to see tracking of your package once it has left the USA & scanned into the destination country. However we are happy to assist you as best we can should you need help.

~ DUTIES - Each country has its own import/export duties and restrictions. ~ TRACKING - We are provided with some details of tracking for International orders, however the tracking will not update once the package is in route within the destination country. You may receive a notice instead of the delivery itself. In this case you are most likely required to pick up your parcel and you may be required to pay something for possible VAT or Duties.

RARE DELIVERY PROBLEMS

~ We are generally very satisfied with USPS as our shipping provider. However, accidents can happen during the shipping process; long after your package is out of our direct care.

INSURANCE CLAIMS

EMAIL AFFIDAVIT (for Insurance company)
If anything should go wrong during the shipping process, a buyer will need to fill out & confirm within an email affidavit that their parcel was never delivered or arrived damaged. Refusal to fill out and submit the affidavit may result in denial of a claim. If the claim is denied, we cannot reimburse you for a lost, stolen or damaged package. The BUYER IS REQUIRED to fill out the electronic affidavit. Once the returned affidavit is accepted the claim process will begin and a full refund will be made with claim approval.

PACKING SLIP / RECEIPT

How many beads are in 10g / 20g?

BEAD QUANTITIES -
~ Some Czech beads are weighed out by the gram (such as the SuperDuo and MiniDuo beads). The quantity of beads per gram can vary depending on the finish & size of the beads. Below are some general approximations.

20 grams of SUPERDUOS - there are approximately 250 - 290 beads

10 grams of SUPERDUOS - there are approximately 130 - 145 beads

Will this color look like the image shown?

YES, as much as possible. We do our best to make images as true to color & quality as possible. However, colors & finishes may shift slightly for the following reasons:

LIGHTING can make the color appear darker or lighter/brighter. Our photography is often done in a bright box with LED lights (meant to imitate natural day light). The color may look slightly different indoors or in lower lighting conditions.

COMPUTER MONITOR settings, can cause hue & color to shift slightly from original image.

PRODUCTION LOTS - with 'Cottage Industry' production, Czech glass bead finishes & glass rod material can be slightly different when new production is made. ** Changes to previous colors are within the item details.

Why do some 2-hole Czech beads get clogged holes?

You may find this in a few beads per pack. Clogged holes do occasionally occur in pressed 2-hole Czech glass beads. This is not a defective package of beads. The Cottage Industry bead pressing process does yield occasional beads with defective holes that can slip through during production.

The glass is molten and pressed with rods between to form the shape & holes. After cleaning/polishing, beads are then finished. The entire process for one batch of beads, start to finish, can take upwards to 1-3 weeks. You may find occasionally that one of the holes is clogged.

Please check all of the holes as you are stringing each bead. Checking the holes as you go is common practice among 2-hole beaders & makes for happier beading.

Why are some Czech glass beads more expensive than others?

Czech glass beads are made of a base glass & sometimes one or two glass finishes applied to the base. Cutting or fire polishing processes for certain bead styles can also affect pricing.

* The price depends on the base glass (raw material), + the elements/chemicals needed to assist in the finishing process, & any specialty polishing/cutting processes there after.

Why do some Czech beads have finishes?

Since certain colors or types of glass are difficult or expensive to produce Czech glass beads are often finished to achieve new looks. Glass finishing processes took hold in a time when the era of costume jewelry began (around the 20’s). Czech glass bead makers have been expanding upon these finishes ever since.

*** It is important to note that abrasives & chemicals in perfumes & lotions can cause these finishes to deteriorate quicker. Keep your seed beaded jewelry separate from other jewelry & don’t wear these pieces at times when you may cause damage to these finishes.

What is in a COLOR NAME? (Czech beads)

The name represents the glass + finish.
---- ei: Jet RED LUSTER

Jet - is referring to the base glass color.
RED LUSTER - refers to the finish. **

** The finish will often change the hue and appearance of base glass.
The color you think of when you hear the name, may not represent the actual color of the bead. ei: Jet RED LUSTER is not actually red at all. It is a metallic Green tone.

Distributor names may be used for consistency. The true color of the bead is usually best represented by the images of the beads. I try to represent the colors and textures of the glass as true to life as possible. Item details will inform if finish/color changes from a previous batch, & may describe color details beyond the name.

What if I accidentally gave the WRONG shipping ADDRESS?

Please message us ASAP if you notice the wrong shipping address was given at checkout. Our processing time is quick & once the item is shipped to the wrong address, there is nothing we can do about it unless the package ends up getting returned (returned to sender).

If we receive the package, we are happy to re-ship the package if you are willing to pay the shipping for the 2nd shipment attempt.
