Bead by Bead Utica is a community-based art project, offering free workshops to the public, targeting low income and immigrant youth populations, to learn bead and basic jewelry making techniques. This project promotes meaningful engagement, dialogue and interactions between people of different backgrounds, learning from one another and bridging cultural differences.
Your purchase helps support the program and the individuals who have made these beads and jewelry. Revenues from selling these beads and jewelry are split half with the participant and the other half are reinvested back into the program so we are able to offer more workshops at no charge to immigrant and refugee communities, covering the costs of materials, clay, glazes and firings.
