About

Why didn't I do this years ago?

When I was quite young, my sister and I started doing embroidery kits in the 1960s. My mother taught me to use a sewing machine and, well, it took off from there. Although I enjoyed crafts, I didn't go into crafts or art in college. Instead, I got a degree in Engineering. It was a challenge and I often enjoy a good challenge.

I left my home state of Michigan to come to Washington, DC to work for the government. I changed jobs a couple of times, but I was never truly excited by my job. Although I stayed in my last job for 20+ years, I was growing tired of my field. The whole time, I was collecting fabric, yarn, and beads. Always, I was involved in a steady stream of projects.

I recently left my Engineering career and started pursing my passion for crafts full time. I love beading as its small and portable. Projects with small beads, however, take time to complete. And I have priced my bracelets accordingly. I will try and include smaller, more affordable projects in my shop.

Further, I have to get rid of some yarn (and other supplies) from time to time as I have more than I could possibly use in my life time.

Items are made in a home with pets (cats and a dog).

Care instructions

My jewelry is made using a commonly available beading thread and glass beads. These should stand up to mild soap and water, but I have not tested them. Beading does break with prolonged wear and under high stress conditions. This means it may break have to be restrung if you wear it a lot and you shouldn't pull on your jewelry.

Those are my recommendations, but your experience may vary. If something breaks please contact me and we can discuss the situation.
