About

I love old wood!

Raising our three kids in Central Texas, Montra and I have found that division of responsibilities is essential. So, it is only natural for that perspective to carry over to this small business.

My wife, the true intellect of our pairing, provides encouragement, positive feedback, and....gentle nudging when creativity threatens to ignore good sense. I, maker of the frames, guided by her subtle prods, use her smiles and an occasional raised eyebrow as my rudders. So far, its a good arrangement... better if I could just learn how to more accurately interpret those raised subliminal clues.

The look, the feel, and the smell of woods reclaimed from times past floods my senses with memories. A frame made from such woods evokes a connection to those days now gone (OK, maybe that’s reaching a bit far, but we do love the character of an old farm house style frame).

We have enjoyed traveling across Texas, looking for unique and curious wood to re-purpose and craft into one-of-a-kind frames and mirrors. We have used materials from a World War I army barracks, farm barns and cottages, church pianos, and mansions as well as worn door jambs, weathered fence pickets, well-traveled pallets, chippy windows, loose siding, and old homestead flooring. All provide unique settings to frame cherished photos and special art work. We believe surrounding the present with remnants of the past adds character and distinction to any décor.
