A simple suggestion that changed everything.
This shop started from a suggestion my best friend made to me during summer one year.
I was already experimenting with polymer clay at the time because I found that stores tended to only carry accessories that were 'in' at the time and everything seemed impersonal and massed produced. It meant that if a fad I didn't particularly care for was 'in' I was out of luck for finding cute, unique jewelry.
I've always loved art and crafting. I took multiple classes in high school and college. I decided I would make earrings for myself and so I did. I showed my best friend what I had made and he suggested that I try selling them on Etsy.
The rest flowed naturally. I am currently in my second year of running my shop and I love it. Everything you see in my shop is 100% me from beginning to end. I buy the supplies, craft the items, pack them, and hand deliver them to the post office.
Slowly but surely my shop has expanded and I've been lucky enough to receive multiple invites to events and commissions.
My main goal when crafting my items, is to have the person who receives it feel like they have a little piece of me. Like they didn't just purchase something out of a shop that tons of other people have. I want them to feel that they have an item that was entirely crafted for them and no other person on Earth will ever have one like it. That's the magic of hand crafted and Bean Desu!

Hello friends! My name is Maixa and I am The Bean. I am the sole worker for this shop. Everything you see in my store is crafted by my hand from start to finish. I hope that my energy can bring joy to the people who like my creations.
Bean Desu literally means 'I'm Bean' in Japanese. I thought this name was funny and fitting because being Spanish I eat a lot of beans, so I decided to make it my signature. In my shop you'll see bean themed items, food themed items, and Japanese inspired items.
I started making polymer jewelry as a hobby and so that I could make myself interesting and unique items. I really like jewelry that is a little odd and out there, they're great conversation starters and make people smile. I hope that the things I make can bring a smile to other people as well since I really enjoy making them.
Everything in my shop is made by me. I sculpt the item, assemble it and later paint and glaze it.
