This wristlet is so cute! I bought it to match a dress I will be wearing to a wedding next month. It will go perfectly and look elegant! The wristlet is very well made.

Hidden Talent and Passion

When I was a kid, I was always playing with beads and crayons. Always wanting that new box of crayons to make a rainbow or draw a picture of a field with the mixture of greens and browns. When it came to beads, seed beads were the pick with earring wires and fishing twine (the perks of living in the country). So since the beginning, I've always been drawn to art and color. Fast forward 18 or so years and trying to establish what I wanted to do with my life as a job/career I picked up jewelry after the job market got hard. My hidden passion/talent for making jewelry soon erupted and after a monumental life change of deciding not to pursue grad school for curation.

Then Bean's Beads was born! So for the last six years I've been making jewelry for the women in my family for Christmas to doing local craft fairs on Long Island and upstate NY. I love creating new things either from something I've seen, or just to push the boundaries to see how people will react. I am always learning new techniques of how to make a necklace, or bracelets. From the chunky look to small and simplistic, anything goes. I like affordable items, but also like to splurge on that special piece of crystal or stone to make my jewelry special.

That's what I love about jewelry. I love the different colors and mediums that can be put together with them. How they make you feel, whether its that one piece that stands out or if it just completes what your wearing. I love making jewelry. Its therapeutic, fun, and a great way to express how I feel.

My designs come from multiple ways. From inspiration of mother nature with my tree of life pendants, to wanting to make intricate work on our herringbone weave bracelets, to just a simple string of beads for a necklace. I am always in search of a new design and color to play and grow with! I love to learn new techniques and color blends of how to make jewelry. From how to use certain metals, to how a new bead weave is done, to how color affects each one of us and it shows in our work. From the very beginning trial, to how to grow as a designer, I am always learning and looking for a new color to play with.

I started the company 10 years ago after rediscovering that I loved to create colorful jewelry that's fun, affordable and different. Art has always been a passion of mine, and the best thing that happened to me after not getting into grad school.
