Announcement   Welcome to BearHunt!

Pull up a stump and make yourself comfy while I tell you a little story...

In the midst of a ridiculously happy childhood (o, sweet time before unwelcome and overstaying teenage angst!), one of my fondest memories consists of a little ditty oft sung by grandparents and camp counselors. It started out like this:

"We're goin' on a bear hunt, we're goin' on a bear hunt..."

Maybe you're familiar with it? Even if you're not, just know that it embodies woodsiness! folksiness! whimsy! fun! Basically, it embodies what my jewelry is all about. I hope you enjoy my little creations, all set to the easy rhythms that we find around us in our beautiful world.

About

jewelry from deep in the woods!

BearHunt was born out of a BIG change.

About a year ago, I (Emily) moved back to my home state of Arkansas after a six-year stint living in California. After this return home - under none-too-happy circumstances - I found that my creativity was in need of a good unleashing. Jewelry making had been bouncing around in the corners of my mind for a while...but on a college student budget, in an apartment low on space, & surrounded by "citified" life, the timing just never seemed right.

But when I moved home and remembered what elbow room, family love, & a little more time to play felt like, the unleashing began! One essential creative element that had always eluded me rose to the surface - a medium! After spending a lot of time exploring my family's first piece of "real land" (perched along the Arkansas River, with lots of elbow room), I discovered that we had wood. LOTS of it. With cheeky beavers and natural pruning in abundance, there was always some kind of wood floating around unused.

With the expert help of my dad, who never met a tool he couldn't use or a skill he couldn't kindly & patiently teach, I began to work with this wood. I discovered everything that I had at my fingertips - the expertise of a lifelong carpenter, about a million tools that I could learn to use, black walnut, persimmon, oak, & cedar in abundance - and got busy!

The processes I use are ever-evolving. I absolutely love learning something new from a fellow artist. Most often, it's my dad - but suggestions from brothers, sister, friends, and co-workers have all worked their way into different pieces!

More than anything, BearHunt is about remembering the things that are important in life even when they're not readily before your eyes. For me, that's the joy I find in a simple life of beauty and gratefulness of which the woods remind me.

Hellooo! My name is Emily, & I love to make things...mostly out of wood. Probably because it smells so good. And because sawdust is just so great, however you slice it.

Thank you kindly for visiting BearHunt! To me, there's nothing quite like being able to carry a little piece of the woods with you wherever you go. That's why I make these little treasures from pieces you might find washed up on the shore of a river, lying on a forest floor, or nestled in a long-forgotten drawer. My goal is pretty simple- to make quality pieces that are woodsy, organic, and wearable. Whether you're an all-granola girl, a lumberjack with a soft side, or an organically chic fashionista, jewelry from BearHunt can remind you that that beauty and adventure are always right under your nose!

Payment
My preferred method of payment is PayPal -- however, I'm open to other forms as well! Personal checks (US) and money orders are a-ok if that's what suits you! If one of those is the best option for you, I'll ship your product after we have received payment.

For orders shipped within my beloved home state of Arkansas, an 8.5% sales tax will be added.
Shipping
As a rule, I ship USPS Priority Mail. That means, typically, your product should arrive in a week or less (though, of course, the good ole' Postal Service makes no guarantees about that time frame!).

If you need a different arrangement, I'm more than willing to oblige! I LOVE to accommodate international customers, too! I'll ship internationally based on the individual need of the buyer, choosing the most appropriate shipping method for their particular location. Convo me if you need desired any sort of adjustment with your shipping, like deadlines, insurance, or confirmation. If you love what you see at BearHunt, I'll find a way to get it to you -- sled dogs, camels, what have you!
Refunds and Exchanges
I strive to make excellent products that will be both aesthetically and practically pleasing. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the product you receive, I will cheerfully work with you to make it better as much as I'm able! To help facilitate a cozier friendship with you, my customer, I'll handle all refunds/returns/exchanges on a case-by-case basis.

In terms of initial problems with a piece of jewelry, please provide me with all the details of the issue you encounter within one week of receiving the product, and I will do all I can to resolve it -- really and truly!
