Hi from Bear and Rose! We create bespoke home and lifestyle decor from our workshop in York, UK.

Hello and thank you for visiting our Etsy shop!

We are husband and wife team Sarah and James - the founders, designers and makers behind Bear and Rose.

It all started when we returned to the UK in May 2018 after being expats in the Middle East for the previous 4 years. A lifestyle change was needed due to health issues for both of us, and with our second baby on the way we were looking for a business we could establish and grow from our home.

And just like that....Bear and Rose was created. The business is named after our two children - Arthur (which means Bear) and Theadora Rose.

Having invested in a top of the range laser cutting machine, we could then bring our home decor and other product design ideas to life. We thoroughly enjoy creating bespoke, personalised items for our customers, and hand finish all of our products ourselves.

2019 brought many exciting changes to Bear and Rose - the main one being we moved the business out from the small purpose built workshop we had been working from in our back garden...to a large Business Unit with plenty of workshop and office space. This move (albeit scary) has meant that we have been able to invest in new larger machinery and increased our scale massively. It's also nice to have our home back! :-)

Frequently asked questions
What is your turnaround time?

Our lead time is 1-4 business days.

If you need an item quickly and want to “jump the queue” so to speak, please add the additional “Priority Order” listing to checkout before you order. This will bring the lead time to 1 working day. Delivery methods are the same as normal even on expedited orders.

My item is late...

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, shipping and mail industries have been particularly affected.

Domestic (UK) delivery has now generally returned to normal. We send UK orders using either Royal Mail 1st Class, or DHL Next Day delivery. If you've been waiting a week from dispatch, please get in touch.

For International items, we are still seeing some delays, with US and Canada deliveries being particularly affected and taking up to 6 weeks to arrive. Please get in touch if your international delivery hasn't arrived within 3-4 weeks.

My item is damaged...

We take great pride in our packaging - and take every precaution to ensure your item arrives to you in perfect condition including layers of air cushioning or tissue paper, custom made protective cardboard and labelling up of “Fragile”.

However the fragile nature of some of our products mean occasionally, beyond our control, damage may occur in transit. It’s really important that any damage is reported within 24 hours of confirmed delivery - and photographs of the damaged item with the packaging would be appreciated. Please do make contact within this time period so we can sort a replacement for you as soon as possible.

Can I cancel or return an order?

If you have recently made your order and we haven’t yet made it for you, you can cancel for any reason. Once the item has been made it can no longer be cancelled.

Returns/ refunds are not permitted on customised or personalised items.

We will accept returns of non customised items (geometric animals etc) as long as they are returned in the same condition as sent, unused and at buyers cost. We will issue the refund upon safe receipt of the items.

Can I see a mock up / preview of a personalised item?

We always recommend that you ask for a mock up of a name or quote etc before ordering, so you can check you will be 100% happy with how it looks in a particular font.

We offer mock ups free of charge - which are computer images that we can send back to you via messages or email. We would rather ensure that you are completely happy with personalised orders before we go ahead and make it.
