Bear Chick's Journey
My Craft Journey
I started selling crafts in third grade. My classmates would buy the colorful, multilayered flowers I’d made with my trusty Fun Flower Thingmaker. I went through the woven potholder, plastic lace braiding and crochet phases. As I got older, I did counted cross stitch and needlepoint for pleasure and gifts. But 12 years ago, I took a jewelry making class and found my true craft niche!
My Jewelry Journey
Naturally, I began my jewelry journey with stringing. Very quickly, my jewelry supplies started taking over the living room and I would spend entire evenings designing and stringing necklaces and bracelets. It’s been an interesting evolution, learning to work with wire and other components. I’ve always been obsessed with pattern, so it’s no surprise that chainmaille is now a favorite technique~I even teach a few different chainmaille classes.
Bear Chick
My Etsy shop is filled with a variety of all the different things that I like to create. My simple earrings reflect fun themes that women love--animals, travels and color. All of my necklaces and bracelets are one of a kind and usually include a lot of wirework, sometimes upcycled or vintage components and color. Seeing a theme here? Yes, Bear Chick is Fearlessly Colorful, just like her customers!
