Mi madre siempre quiso que fuera artista, pero encontré otras actividades que pensé que eran más "yo". Avance rápido unos años, ¡y ahora estoy haciendo ambas cosas!
Enseño música elemental en una escuela de Título 1 en Georgia. Me encanta, pero puede ser un desafío. Casi al mismo tiempo que empecé a enseñar, empecé a pintar. ¡Me ayuda a lidiar con el estrés y me hace feliz! Pinto porque me encanta pintar, lo que resultó en que tuviera demasiadas pinturas para almacenar en mi casa. ¡Así que los comparto con ustedes!
Utilizo acrílicos y acuarelas dependiendo del día y del tema. A veces uno se ajusta a mi estado de ánimo mejor que otros. Pinto en un caballete, en mi escritorio y, a veces, en el suelo (aunque luego tengo que proteger mis creaciones de mis pastores alemanes). No me propongo crear "arte". Solo quiero hacer cosas que hagan feliz a la gente, incluido yo mismo. Es por eso que pinto muchas flores y escenas de pantanos, estas son cosas que hacen feliz a la gente.

It’s amazing how your mom is ALWAYS right about you— even when you don’t think so.
My mom always wanted me to be an artist, but I found other pursuits that I thought were more “me”. Fast forward a few years, and now I am doing both!
I teach elementary music at a Title 1 school in Georgia. I love it— but it can be challenging. About the same time I started teaching, I started painting. It helps me cope with stress and just makes me happy! I paint because I love painting— which resulted in me having way too many paintings to store at my home. So I am sharing them with you!
I use acrylics and watercolors depending on the day and the subject. Sometimes one fits my mood better than others. I paint on an easel, at my desk, and sometimes on the floor (although then I have to guard my creations from my German Shepherds). I don’t set out to create “art”. I just want to make things that make people happy— myself included. That is why I paint a lot of flowers and marsh scenes— these are things that make people happy.
