Very well made, super comfy!
If you can't find a way, make a way
I'm a mom of six. No, that's no typo.
So, that's six times I've pulled on maternity clothes. Six times 9 months (ok...10 months with a couple of the more stubborn ones). Do the math. That's a lot of tugging, pulling, twisting and saying, "Huh?...who IS that in the mirror?"
I had always made some of my own maternity clothes, but I missed my jeans!! So I took those comfy jeans and I put my many years of sewing skills to use and came up with maternity jeans I could not only live with, but love.
I have been making Belly Jeans for other women across the country, and in other countries, since February 2002.
I thank you for stopping by. I welcome questions and will reply promptly.
I know you will love your own Belly Jeans....even if you aren't pregnant...because comfortable jeans never go out of style!
Around the web
I have been converting maternity jeans since 2002.
I am the seamstress, the site manager, the shipper, the receiver, the customer service department and a mom of 6. I wear a few other hats in this crazy life, but those are central to me. So when you email me, you get me emailing you back. When you get your jeans, (or shorts, skirt, etc) you get my work, lovingly done.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
I wish you health, and happiness....and a comfortable pregnancy!
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
- Money Order
I also accept personal checks, bank checks, and money orders. In years of doing so, I have never had a problem with them, so I continue to foster good faith with those payment methods. Checks must be made out to me personally.
All forms of payment must clear before shipment will be made.
My site only lists shipping for US destinations. I will ship internationally. Again, contact me and I'll check on the costs and estimated delivery times for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not refund shipping charges.
I do not refund money for garments sent to me for custom conversion. Honestly, I've never been asked. :-)
If for some reason your custom made conversion needs an adjustment within 14 days of you receiving it, you may send it back and I will adjust it and send it back to you for no charge for the adjustment or the shipping back to you. You will have to pay to ship it to me for that adjustment, however.
Additional policies and FAQs
Conversions: From the time I receive your jeans, I will have your jeans converted and on their way back to you within 5 business days. I return ship via USPS Priority Mail.
Premade Maternity: I will ship within 2 business days of receiving payment for your order. Again, shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail.
Which jeans should I send?
Just remember the suggestions here for the best conversion.
The jeans you send should fit you comfortably, but you are no longer able to button or zip them the entire way up. A good fit is not too loose, and of course, not too tight. The new "guy fit" and "long & lean" and "low-rise" women's styles work very well! Men's jeans are honest in sizing, for the most part. Waist x inseam. Pretty straight forward stuff. There is also a more gradual line from waist to hip, and as that waistline disappears with pregnancy, this will often be a more natural fit. Jeans with stretch ROCK, even 100% cotton jean-purists like me appreciate that little extra give.
The Belly Band is designed to support your belly; the correct fit in the hips and butt holds your jeans up. Jeans need to normally (pre-pregnancy) ride at least an 1" below the belly button (this doesn't mean they simply "hang" there with lots of crotch room droop... it means the "correct" fit has them hitting below the navel). "Classic Fit" women's jeans of any brand will NOT work.
Do you convert more than jeans?
Why yes I do! I can convert shorts, skirts, slacks, khakis, etc. As long as they fit as described in the paragraph above, they most likely can be converted.
If you aren't sure, just drop me an email with some details, a picture, or a web link to a similar item and I will let you know.
