Benham Cooper carries distinctive handknit hats and 20th century vintage with a focus on handmade garments, respectively made and sourced by Julia Germaine. I encourage custom orders and requests!

Singularity is the bag here at B|C. Vintage is limited to wearable/usable pieces with good design and constructed of quality materials with a soft spot for leather, silk, and wool. I also carry a few unfinished items ripe for personalization. All knit hats and other headwear I personally construct by hand without patterns.

I help clients extol and enhance their distinct personal styles while respecting traditional methods, and also the vast racks of beautiful clothing already out there in the world, waiting to be found.

Benham and Cooper are Julia's middle names and reflect, in the spirit of the shop, a mongrel heritage: General Benham, civil war ancestor, and Cooper, the surname granted at Ellis Island to my paternal great-grandfather.
