In the past I have designed and drawn intricate Celtic knotwork. I then moved on to pencil portrait drawing. These days I draw in coloured pencil - my style is realism/hyper realism. I can spend anything from 2 or 3 to 50 hours on a drawing, depending on the size, and love nothing better than paying attention to detail and attempting to get as close to reality as is possible. Many of my pictures have a small part of something as a subject, as I like to draw attention to the beauty in the detail of ordinary, everyday things. My inspiration can come from anything I come across which catches my eye. I'm drawn to light, reflection and nuances of colour and often spend time taking photographs while out walking to assist me in deciding on a subject.

This Etsy shop features my latest smaller size drawings which measure 28.3 x 21 cm (11.14 x 8.27 inches) with a 2cm (0.79 inch) border. The drawings are small enough to dispatch easily and large enough to look good when framed. All of the drawings for sale are one-of-a-kind originals drawn by me.

The large drawings are approx. 54 x 40 cm (21.26 x 15.75 inches) with a 5cm border. These are not for sale in this particular Etsy shop but you can take a look on my Instagram account (bernadette_fenlon) if you'd like. (Commissions by email only).
