Hand Cut and Polished Stones as Jewelry & Collectibles

Rochester, Michigan 104 Sales On Etsy since 2014

5 out of 5 stars (21)

Announcement   My Rochester, Michigan based shop features stone pendants, cabochons, fossils & earrings that are hand cut and polished by me, using saws and a series of wheels with varying grits. Some stones become pendants with bails that can hang on a cord or chain solo. Some pieces are wire-wrapped. Some I have fashioned into a finished original beaded necklace. I also have magnets and bottle stoppers available. Although most of my collected stones come from the great state of Michigan in the form of Petoskey Stones, Leland Bluestones , fossils, Fordite, Kona Dolomite and Lake Superior Agates, I am also enjoying many jasper's and gems from afar, such as Larimar, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite and Chinese Picture Stone. I have been fortunate to enjoy hours of rock hunting on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior and have a lot of stones to work with including many Leland Blue and Petoskey. I welcome your inquiries and thank you for visiting my shop!

About

Stones tell stories and I never tire of either.

I retired from public school teaching, special education, in 2010 and started working with stones shortly after.
My inspiration for this phase comes from our son, David, and his love of rocks & minerals & fossils. I honor his collection and his memory.

The shop is a work in progress. I am working on stones in a shop setting every week and am only listing some of my work on Etsy.
I do local shows in the fall; Stoney Creek Metro Parks 'Fall Into Nature' and the Rochester OPC Craft Show. This April 2018 I was at Goodell’s Earth Fair in the East Barn.

I have been fortunate to acquire many new materials to work with.
I am tumbling Bluestones, Agates and Petoskey Stones in my tumbler and working on more delicate pieces, such as finer pendants and earrings.

Welcome to my shop, now in its seventh year. I love to polish stones and let the stones speak to me and that is how this began. I'm a collector and have many stones to polish as well as a life long collection of unique and vintage beads to work with. It's about the hand-cut and hand-polished stones that come with no adornment OR with a bail OR featured in a beaded necklace. Also earrings, bottle stoppers and magnets. I am excited to choose ETSY as a way to share my work.
If you would like a sterling silver chain with your pendant I have them available in 16" and 18" lengths for your additional purchase of $12.00 -20.00 each.
