Video summary: Japanese Temari Balls at the Myersville Farmers Market.

Japanese Temari Balls bring their new owners joy as they wish the recipient a bright and happy life!

Hello, my name is Beth, and I am the creator of Beth's Temari Balls. I started creating Japanese Temari Balls about eight years ago as a hobby. Designing Temari Balls has become a passion for me as each ball is handmade with a unique, brightly colored geometric design. Each Temari Ball takes between six and eight hours to complete depending on the complexity of the pattern. Japanese Temari Balls bring their new owners a lot of joy as they wish the recipient a bright and happy life. These Temari Balls can be used as ornaments, collector's items, or gifts! Special orders are welcome!

The cultural traditions of Temari were preserved through Japanese folk art. When tracing the origins of Temari, it was introduced in Japan in the 6th century with the creation of one of Japan's dignified sport Kemari (hacky sack). Kemari was later officially changed to Temari which means handball in Japanese. The art of decorating Temari balls became a popular trend for women. They were made out of old Kimonos, wrapped with materials until they became the shape of a ball and then wrapped with string. The Temari balls were covered with Japanese aesthetics and kaleidoscope designs. Temari transformed from a ball that is used for a sport to an artistic gift.

Thank you for supporting my small business.
