1 Sale On Etsy since 2017

Announcement   SOOTHING is the introductory product in the BetterBathBlends line. We are hard at work researching new essential oil recipes - lots of trial and error! - and hope to release GINGERBREAD soon. GINGERBREAD will be appropriate for aromatherapy baths but also contains ingredients (ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon bark, and clove oils) that may help your winter blahs. We need to find a better balance for the scent before offering it for sale, but hope to find the proper blend soon!

Frequently asked questions

Shop details specify 3-5 business days because this should cover almost every eventuality. Fridays will be dedicated shipping days, as I will have my husband available to help me if my physical problems impede my ability to prepare packages for shipping earlier in the week. Orders may ship earlier in the week, thanks to the marvel of USPS pickup service.

While I use the same measuring cup for each container of bath blends I sell as I use for my own baths, variations in each bag of Epsom salt combined with settling during shipping may make the volume more compact. Sometimes, the salt blend will even solidify. This should dissolve in the hot water of your bath, though you may wish to break it into smaller pieces with your fingers to speed the process. I often have to break up such pieces that have formed in my giant bags of Epsom salt before the salt with the baking soda.

I can make no medical claims about diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any type of ailment, as my products are not reviewed by the FDA. However, you may experience results similar to those described for each product based on the known properties of each essential oil. It should be noted, however, that individuals may react differently to certain oils based on their own body chemistry. If you do not experience the expected benefit, you may want to try a different blend of essential oils in the future.

Some essential oils are contraindicated certain demographics, such as: children, pregnant women, people with high blood pressure, people with sensitive skin, etc. While it is my intention to include a warning for any bath blend containing these ingredients, I list all ingredients so that you may research each one to ensure it is safe for your condition. I cannot be held liable for negative reactions to any of my bath blends, as people have individual reactions to various essential oils that cannot be predicted.

While it is my intention to include a warning for any bath blend containing ingredients that may cause unpleasant reactions to certain people, I list all ingredients so that you may research each one to ensure it is safe for your condition. My warnings are not exhaustive due to character limits and practicality. I cannot be held liable for negative reactions to any of my bath blends, as people have individual reactions to various essential oils that cannot be predicted. But if you do have a bad reaction, you may wish to consult your doctor, depending on the severity of your reaction. Message me if this happens so that I can add a warning to the product listing if one is not already present.

R&D is a family affair. My husband and son are integral in the process, suggesting potential blends and sniffing new blends for a scent test. As I have sensitive skin and a variety of other issues, I also take at least one test bath in each new blend to see how I react to it. My son occasionally takes test baths, too. (Sadly, my husband doesn't fit comfortably in our bathtub. Our son will probably outgrow it within the next 2-3 years, too.)

Initially, I will be developing bath blends to solve problems that I personally suffer from. After that, I will branch out to blends requested by my customers and potential customers. Feel free to contact me with requests!

With the help of my wonderful family! My husband helps me with heavy lifting and assorted tasks. My son, instead of a traditional allowance for merely existing, gets paid allowance-level amounts for physically mixing the Epsom salt with the baking soda, measuring the salt mix into the containers you receive, and handing them to me so I can add the proper amount of essential oils to each individual container. After I seal up the containers again, he also shakes them to ensure they are mixed well.

For now, all of my labels are handwritten. And for that, I may need to apologize if my hands started shaking while I was writing your label out. My shaky hands still produce better penmanship than either my husband or son can with a steady hand.

That would be telling, wouldn't it? I'm actually prohibited from publicizing that in my shop, as my supplier is not involved in the production of my Better Bath Blends and does not want their name attached to any individual distributor's derivative products because they can't vouch for quality control and such. But if you become a paying customer and wish to learn how to make any given bath blend, you can register as a customer with my supplier. I will not disclose my recipes to anyone who does not sign up as a customer with me as their referrer. Sorry, but I have to protect my business. (It's totally cheaper to make them yourself than for me to ship you salt though. So if you like my products, it makes good financial sense to join up!)

Each shipped package weighs ~1 pound, most of the weight made up of the salt and baking soda. The product itself would cost much more if I didn't buy my bulk Epsom salt and baking soda through Amazon Prime, where I get free shipping. (I think my postal carrier might hate me for how heavy some of my deliveries are. My son certain complains about carrying them inside.) My handling charge (included in shipping) is only enough to cover the cost of packing and shipping materials. I wish it was cheaper to ship, but alas.

My recommended solution is to order the Better Bath Blends you wish to try. If you like them, you can sign up as a customer with my essential oil supplier and then I'll tell you which oils to order for your preferred blend.

Believe it or not, I encourage you to do this! If you register as a customer or distributor with my essential oil supplier, using me as your referrer, I will GIVE you the recipes for the bath blends I create so you can make them yourself. HOWEVER, you will also agree not to sell any of MY blends, only recipes you have created yourself. You'll probably want to brand yourself differently and not call your products "bath blends" unless you want to form a partnership with my shop where we specialize in different types of bath blends and cross-promote each other. (Let's chat if you would like to do this!)
